The Dem playbook
The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:
Kennedy -- civil rights
Leahy -- Bybee torture memo
Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment
Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties
Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade
Feingold -- limits of executive powers
Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

Thanks.
He's keeping his powder dry.
Here comes Korematsu. (Which is still good law, by the way!)
His advice to the president as his lawyer is different from his judgement as a judge.
Has nothing to do with truth.
I'm listening to the radio so I can't see her.... But if I had to listen to Leahy question my loved one, I would want to puke too :-)
Not sure
Is the woman behind Leaky's left shoulder related to Herman Munster?
Mrs. Roberts needs to smile a bit more....she looks stressed out and at times, angry. She's a lawyer too, so I'm sure it's hard for her to keep a straight face with some of the ridiculous questions.
Thanks.

****Congress certainly has the power to pass a law ending a war. They can override a presidential veto.***
The ONLY power in ENDING a war that Congress has is in cutting off funding for it...
They must also vote to approve any peace treaties from that war...
If it simply ENDS, without a treaty, such as Korea, then Congress has no say in that decision...
I'm cubicle bound right now..thanks for the updates!
I haven't yet heard any "crap" from Roberts.
She is a lawyer? Oh my...
Yea, there's a super-duper precedent which everybody thinks SHOULDN'T be upheld.
I'd puke if I had to sit in a room looking at Leahy, Kennedy, Schumer and Durbin. The thought of being anywhere near Kennedy makes my skin crawl. Schumer's voice makes my hair stand on end.
Roberts to Leahy"I read the book you quoted from". LOL!
"I read the Chief's book at you quoted from Senator", LOL
LOL, don't insult Fred Gwynne...
Leahy screwed up his Korematsu question. He asked if a judge would uphold the detention of a person solely based on race. No judge - even in the Korematsu court would do that. You uphold the detention of someone because they pose a national security risk, and they happen to be a member of a race that poses an additional risk.
