The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:

Kennedy -- civil rights

Leahy -- Bybee torture memo

Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment

Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties

Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade

Feingold -- limits of executive powers

Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

At least she could throw something at the stupid dims. If she stood up now and threw a tomato at Leaky, it just wouldn't look right!

It was Leahy, Biden and Teddy that voted against Roberts in his first hearing, correct?

I believe so

Leaky is just looking for a mistake ANY mistake so he can trip up this train.

This is not a confirmation hearing, this is a guantlett. It has NOTHING to do with law.
It has NOTHING to do with judicial vacancy

This guantlett is about aquisition of power and the democrats loose power if Roberts passes.

Congrats you are a judge nominiee BUT first you must be tortured, anal probed and ridiculed by elected officials who are not even worth to wipe the mud beneath your shoes.

(seriously would anyone EVER trust leahy for ANYTHING if you knew him personally?)

They don't have the votes and I wish they would try it, it would insure a 40 year stay in the Minority

So far, I am very impressed with Roberts. He is very 'cool'.
Is that his wife behind him looking like she is going to puke?

I'm not liking what Roberts is saying now, crap about changing his views due to a new job.

Truth remains truth, regardless of your job Judge Roberts.

Roberts is holding back - both on information and intellectually. If he wanted to run circles around this committee, he could. The opportunities are certainly there.

I don't think Mrs. Roberts is over the fact that MSM ATTACKED HER CHILDREN FOR THEIR CLOTHING. I haven't gotten over it either. I would never get over it.

How could he answer it? Congress certainly has the power to pass a law ending a war. They can override a presidential veto.

But if that ever happened, it would have to go to the Supreme Court, where lawyers for the President, and lawyers for congress, would both spend thousands of hours researching the issue in detail, so they could present written briefs.

Then the supreme court would have oral arguments, where the lawyers would answer questions. And then the judges would do their own research, and talk to their fellow justices, and make a ruling.

How could Roberts possibly answer how he thinks about the question NOW? He can't say how he would rule in that case, or any case, not just because it is wrong, but because it would be silly to do so before having all the information.

How insulting for Judge Roberts to be grilled by these morons...I bet he thinks he's losing brain cells just answering some of these questions.

LOL...

I was thinking just about the same thing.
These congress critters look like 1st year law students compared to this brainiac of a judge.
