The Dem playbook
The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:
Kennedy -- civil rights
Leahy -- Bybee torture memo
Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment
Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties
Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade
Feingold -- limits of executive powers
Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

Sessions is smiling with mirth
As he speaks about comparable worth.
Feinstein's not glad
Her team is so bad
Of sluggers the Dems have a dearth.
One wonders about folks living shelterd lives if they are discussing attractvieness of female politicians.
However some years ago there was the congresswoman from NYC who married another congreassman from upstate New York, and they had a kid. She was kinda cute. But she was GOP. Molinari?
I've actually enjoyed the more recent democrat questioning. First, I think it is better for them to ask their questions, get the answers, and then go out later and give their opinions about the answers -- because they look stupid when they contradict him and he slaps them down.
But many of their questions are reasonable, and I enjoy hearing the responses. I wouldn't enjoy hearing their stupid statements ABOUT the responses.
Take that BIden.
OK I won't do a personal attack. I'll simply say that I will be amazed if Scalia ever said such a thing. I can't imagine why he would have said it before it became an issue with Roberts. If he said it after it became an issue with Roberts, then I'm amazed that we don't all know it.
But hey, if you pull it out I will stand corrected and revise my remarks. Until then, it seems more likely that you just made it up.
Sorry about that, I'm in the NYC area and yes, I'm sorry about Schumer and Hillary! But, it's not my fault!
Sessions nails it! Doesn't want to (shouldn't have to) consult the transcipt of this hearing before ruling on future cases. LOL
"Bush lied..people died..we wont stop til genocide!" oh sorry I thought this was a DNC site....
Roberts just demolished his opposition with his excellent comments on the process of arriving at a judicial decision. Game, Set, Match.
You couldn't have known.
I heard that!
I don;t think liberals have the right to twist their agenda into law? Something like that! Sessions is GREAT!
Oresident Bush made his nomination of Judge Roberts on 3 criteria: judicial temperment (which we are seeing here today), judicial philosophy (which he is explaining) and character. That is all we can ask of the President.
I firmly believe that Roberets wil be an excellent Chief Justice, probably the best in at least 100 years.
Jeff Sessions is the real deal. Proud to call him a fellow Alabamian and American.
WOW ... did I miss Jeff ... did he just get on??
I love this Senator
It's just another indication of how debate in this country really doesn't exist anymore at least in it's form prior to the Vietnam War.
Very few leftists know how to make a point and support it without slowly degrading into name-calling, frustration and playing the "slave" or "nazi" card.
Sen. "as cute as a button" is almost done with his time :-(
Thanks for the backup!
Yes, he's on his last 15 minutes for this round. He's been magnificent.
LOL did you see the scowl on Leahy's face? He is not amused.
