Kennedy -- civil rights
Leahy -- Bybee torture memo
Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment
Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties
Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade
Feingold -- limits of executive powers
Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

I've got a 27 year old niece, so I'm right with you; there wear a LOT of stuff that grates on my nerves.
Yes, what ARE you all talking about??
NPR is carrying it.
"IF a judge can't defend LIFE, what good is he?"
Do you really mean that as a serious question, or is it just a cliche of some sort? I could probably put together a lengthy response questioning your premise, your understanding of the role of the judiciary, etc. But it's probably not worth the time because you're clearly set in your position. I'll simply say that despite the way your question is framed, it's simply not a judge's responsibility to "defend life." However, in many instances, his decisions will achieve that result, and for that we can be thankful. I expect that will be the case with Chief Justice Roberts.
Not only are you the only one that thinks Fin is fine... you need glasses or to get out more often. She has a 1964 hairdo!!!! And painted on eyebrows!
Two rounds of questions by each senator.. that's my understanding?
First round 30 minutes each; second round 20 minutes each.
Strategy session with the other dembos on the committee. Since, Roberts is eating each of them and their asinine questions, they've got to re-tool questions for the dembos who've not grilled the Judge, today.
Ok. You're not a male.
As a male, I can tell you she's not attractive.
She may have been a hottie in her younger days but now, she isn't.
Probably not, and who am I to question the judgment of others, but she doesn't seem to be a particulary attractive woman to me. For me your comment would be better directed to Mary Landrieu.
Yeah he was there, dripping his flesh all over his seat. The cut to a quick flash of his fatness listening to Sessions. He heard it no doubt.
It isn't liberal Senators that I'm concerned about, Roberts will be confirmed in spite of all their huffing and puffing. It's whether or not Roberts will be the justice the US needs at this crucial time that concerns me.
Millions of us voted for Bush with the understanding that he would probably have an almost unique opportunity to shape the USSC. If his term ends with approximately the same balance on the court that was in place before he came into office, that opportunity will have been squandered on another vain attempt by a Republican president to make friends out of Democrats and mushy-middleroaders who will ever and always hate him and everything he stands for.
Dudette? You can't be series and might be making a hugh mistake.
Eye surgery is my recommendation. It worked for me.
:-)
"No thanks. HH is a RINO. Nuff said."
Really. And you are the arbiter of RINOism how? I think I'd rather have Hugh on my side and will take his opinions a little more seriously than yours.
Well, DiFi brought up religion yesterday too, somehow equating religion with Nazism. I cannot understand her rationalizing such a comparison, but somehow she got from the persecution of the Jews during WWII to "doing it in the name of religion". Yes, she actually said that yesterday. I question how a Jewish woman cannot not understand the philosophy of the Nazis better, since it was such a murderous regime. Perhaps DiFi really does believe the Nazi's were representative of the Catholic church??? If so, I stand by my first posting. She's either a certified bigot or a poor student of history.
I'm so disappointed in her, although I have seen her shift further leftward over the last ten years, so am not too surprised. But, when she was first elected to the Senate, she was not such a dimwit.
You're NOT alone.
Not only are you the only one that thinks Fin is fine... you need glasses or to get out more often. She has a 1964 hairdo!!!! And painted on eyebrows!
Hey, I didn't say it!!! I was responding to Star Fan. Trust me, I haven't EVER though she was attractive even in her mayoral days!!!
I'm with you, although I would say "attractive".
Thanks Dog. Must be the air in the East as I too think Landrieu is attractive. However my utter disgust with her makes me see red instead of her face.
She may have been a hottie in her younger days but now, she isn't
Trust me, she wasn't! LOL
