The Dem playbook

The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:

Kennedy -- civil rights

Leahy -- Bybee torture memo

Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment

Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties

Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade

Feingold -- limits of executive powers

Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

I am loving watching these hearings. I know most of the Senators think this is about them, but it isn't. It's about our Constitution, our Constitutional process, and this man nominated for Chief Justice. He's absolutely brilliant and is skewering these men without one drop of sweat.

We're watching egos being humiliated by brilliance, humility, confidence and calm demeanor. Given my low opinion of the Senate currently, this is a special treat.

I regret drinking Old Milwakee beer in college when I was short on funds.

There are many good reasons for regretting having drunk Old Milwaukee.

I think Roberts is getting a little tired. No wonder with these stupid questions from the Dems. I notice that he is using a lot more .....ummmms..... than he used earlier.

Do you think DeWine picked the right question to ask at a public hearing?

I just now managed to figure out how to get the streaming video and audio on my computer at work. I'm so loving this! (Fortunately my boss is listening to it, too.)

Hannity is just using my info on the levees and corruption from back when Landrieu's dad was there

Bill O'Reilly used my observations last week. Don't know if that's good or bad...

Beautifully stated! You're right --- they really think the hearings are about themselves. Advise and consent exaggerated into a partian spectacle.

Elections have consquences. Clinton got Breyer and Ginsberg.

Now it Bush's turn.

And they want to know what JR would do differently. Look in the mirror.

So, far....the only questioning that I have really had my ears perked up for was Sen. Kyl's questions about "foreign law"....

I was hoping Roberts would say something simple, like---Ain't no way I will be looking to furiner's and their laws...LOL

Seriesly, he took a much more lengthy and roundabout way of answering that question than I hoped...but I guess he answered it to my satisfaction...

I wish I could get that FAO Schwartz capture from the movie Big (of the keyboard you play with your feet), and photoshop DeWine in shorts and braces.
