Roberts Hearings Set to Start
On Monday, the multi-day Supreme Court confirmation hearings for Judge John Roberts begin. They are expected to last all week. First, will be a series of opening statements by the eighteen members of the Senate Judiciary Cmte. These should take up most of the afternoon.
Lets get this thing started off right!
Fox News this morning said that Teddy will bring in the hurricane stuff...you know, poor blacks were neglected and therefore John Roberts will overturn civil rights laws, blah, blah, blah....
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the 'Rats whine about having these hearings while people are suffering on the Gulf Coast.
Pre game is now on C-Spam. Washington Post reporter Charles Lane
"I wonder how long it will take for Fa Teddy to start screaming ??"
Depends on how long it takes Chucky Cheese to finish with his flip charts and pictorials sent to him by the good folks at NARAL.
I rest my case, Miss Marple. Get ready for a massive dose of Fat Teddy's special Louisiana bloviation hot sauce today.
I'll be watching, and of course for the dem humor since it is assured there will be much hypocrisy form the likes of schemer, fat teddy, beyh, etc....
Should be interesting to say the least.
And of course the dems will probably try to blame Roberts since they could not successfully blame President Bush.
Nomination Hearing Ping!
Oh I cannot stand that man! What point he was trying to make - that the SCOTUS should not have gotten involved after upteen recounts?
Thanks
BUMP
Pulled an all-nighter to finish some homework; I'm 3/4ths asleep and have classes all this afternoon.
I wish I could stick around for the fun.
I suspect the amount of hot in D.C. will rise proportional to the amount of time the Senators mouths are flapping in this hearing. If the hot air moves north heck it may melt the ice and we'll have to contend with flooding down south due to the waters coming down the MS.....
"What point he was trying to make..."
I can't stand him either, I switched to the Addams Family.
However, before I switched he was saying that she was a Repub and couldn't stand the thought of Gore winning and let that get in the way of her making an honest decision.
An excellent caller to CSpan this morning made a point worth repeating:
Why would a nominee to the high court be deemed unacceptable because he/she believes Roe vs.Wade was wrongly decided since there were dissenters to the decision on the Court. The Roe vote was not unanimous. That's a great point, I think.
Hehheh, let the games begin.
What the heck does that have anything to do with the CJ nomination???
Can you say GRANDSTANDING ??!?!??
Not to mention the fact that seven out of nine Justices agreed that the Florida recount sanctioned by the SCOFLA was unconstitutional (not five of nine as the revisionists would have it) -- INCLUDING Clinton appointee Breyer. So complaints about Bush v. Gore would also be bogus.
Bump & Thanks.
Since I am sort of a semi hurricane victim, MAY I BE EXCUSED? I WILL BRING A DOCTOR'S NOTE.
I don't know if I can take the bloviating.
