"Landrieu: "I will answer it. I'm not going to level criticism at local and state officials. Mayor Nagin and most mayors in this country have a hard time getting their people to work on a sunny day, less [sic] alone getting them out of the city in front of a hurricane. "

WHAT?

Wow. Landrieu is either the stupidest person to ever hold a Federal office, or she's so desperate to spin this into an anti-Bush jihad that she started to sputter incoherently.

And by that, I don't mean polo.

I'll give $10,000 to the DNC when a Democrat can give a sane, sensible answer to this question.

anyone see landrieu at any of the time she, the President, Gov and Mayor were all together? She stood back like a scared little girl overwhelmed at what was going on. She's a Senator for God's sakes and she stood behind everyone afraid to be right out there. I noticed it right away. She had NOTHING to say and looked lost. She won't get voted in again and neither will Nagin or Blanco nor should any of them be put into a position of authority over a state or city again. No way.

I got the impression that Mary Landrieu was thinking to herself. "Oh crap, we're screwed".

Landrieu: "They did 100,000 people left in the city because this federal government won't support cities to evacuate people, whether it's from earthquakes, tornados, or hurricanes. That's the truth, and that will come out in the hearings."

What the hell is this skank talking about. Once again the rats ride the nanny state mentality and to pass the buck up to the next biggest bureaucracy.

Maybe I've missed it, but I wish Senator Vitter was out there more, rebutting all this bunk.

we had the best evacuation ...of any evacuation I've seen

If true, how can Bush be to blame for anything?

What a moron.

She is as stupid as Michael Brown saying that the "rescue plan is going great!"

Don't tell me we are going to spend the taxpayer's hard earned money for a stupid hearing which will result in nothing but a bunch of horse puckey.

We all know who is responsible and the Governor would do well to resign because of incompetence along with the Mayor and the Senator.

Ironic that it was the black voters of New Orleans that Jesse Jackson drummed up at the last minute that allowed Landrieu to squeak to victory in the last election (using those same buses to get them to the polls). Yet it's largely her and her party's sheer incompetence and lack of concern that has put the black people of New Orleans at their greatest peril. Question is will the people of New Orleans "wake-up and smell the coffee?"

And the mayor and the governor didn't order the use of the buses why?
