Ironic that it was the black voters of New Orleans that Jesse Jackson drummed up at the last minute that allowed Landrieu to squeak to victory in the last election (using those same buses to get them to the polls). Yet it's largely her and her party's sheer incompetence and lack of concern that has put the black people of New Orleans at their greatest peril. Question is will the people of New Orleans "wake-up and smell the coffee?"

Ironic they can get the people picked up and taken to the polls, but not picked up and out of a doomed city.

Probably not, because the likes of Jesse Jackson, Kayne West the media, and so forth got the first words in...that it was Bush's fault. And just like the recount in Florida that showed Bush won ...they'll still hold on what their leaders told them initially...that Gore won and stole the election. That's what the Democrats do...they project what they want people to believe, putting the Republicans in defense mode.

In terms of playing politics, sometimes I feel like it's Lucy and Charlie Brown and the football. Lucy always pulls the football away and Charlie Brown keeps making the same mistake over and over again.

Have you seen or heard the comments coming out of the "voter" mouth? They are all just as stupid as this senator. The people voting Dem have NO sense and going through a hurricane and losing everything won't change these Government needing junkies vote. The crap spewing out of their Gov. needing mouth has been pathetic! Sorry for the rant but these ungrateful thugs have worked my last nerve. Did you hear the moron staying at the Astrodome commenting on how "he already used up his $2000 and that was F'n Bull*@it. They should give us all $20,000 for we have had to go through. We are being treated like slaves".

What?!!! Man that pisses me off.

Yep. As someone said, if Landrieu had been half as effective bussing people out of N.O. as she was at bussing people to the polls, we'd not be having this discussion.

Even more ironic, however, is that the very people who helped Landrieu squeak to victory are the people most likely to NOT return to NO.

Besides the fact that there's nothing to return to, they will have gotten a taste of life off the plantation. I'm sorry for the circumstances, but maybe some will actually turn this tragedy around for themselves.

Only if it's free coffee!
