There are those who seem to take great delight in placing the blame on events along the Gulf Coast on our president. Maybe some light should be shed on a few facts.
When the folks in the Superdome were waiting for buses to take them to Houston, and while the mayor was crying for buses, he had at his disposal, more than 400 school buses. The governor sat on her duff as the storm hit without calling up the guard. She also had at her disposal many state police.

She knew it was coming.
Maybe the people of LA will think twice about putting another useless, power-centric liberal in the governor's mansion...
And according to the Red Cross, so much of this was even done for her, but she refused to the let them into the city.
She didn't even need to do that much. All she had to do was say yes to the President's request to assume control on the Saturday before landfall and get the Hell out of the way.
The mayor failed at the first place of response. He sent people to an unprotected facility without means of water, food, cots, or restrooms. No portapoties here, no policeman to put down the "mob rule" mentality that has forever hurt many people who just needed a place to shelter them from a terrible storm. The mayor sent those people only after a call from the National Hurrican Center pleaded with him to get those people out. He sent gave them no way to get there, told them to pack a cooler(what is this-a picnic?), and it will all be over in a few hours. How did he expect them to get back home? Now, the governor is covering her tracks by not letting information out that gives concrete evidence to their lack of planning--no timelines for phone calls, etc. This is criminal and I hope the investigation that the dems want proves it. When Ray Nagin was swearing before the TV cameras, "Where the he** were they?" and says " I was here", just what was he doing?
That's not fair. The Mayor knew about the school busses and public claimed he needed more comfortable Greyhound busses. To him, the school busses weren't good enough for the residents.

Only if enough of the people who voted her in have left the state...
I believe if she had used her authority during that critical time to allow the National Guard to go in Mayor Nagin would not have broken down like he did and a third of the New Orleans police department would not have abandoned their posts during that crucial period right after the hurricane hit.
But the man was beside himself. Imagine how you might have felt if all you had to rely on was Governor Blanco.
Removing her now would probably still save lives.
Blanco failed -- and should be jailed.
You think any of the thousands learned anything from this? I'll go out on a limb and say, there make be a dozen out of the thousands. But maybe not even a dozen.
Unfortunately they may put someone just like her in power in whatever State to which they move.
Looking for ways to avoid an audit.
Make that Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanko-Mindo.
The "definition of stupidity" will fall into place here I assure you.
Oh I don't know about that. They need to ask themselves one question. "WILL YOU IN THE FUTURE, VOTE FOR A DUMOCRAT THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU SAFETY AND WELFARE IN A NATURAL DISASTER?
A LA Legislator was on TOny Snow's show this morning. He said they are starting up recall petitions to get her out of office.
Riiiiigght.
They had 400 city buses as well just for the City of New Orleans (+more from the suburbs)...
