Blanco rescinds Nagin evacuation order - my title
9/7/05 | me

Governor Blanco just said on Fox News Channel that Mayor Nagin does not have the authority to order evacuation of New Orleans, that the authority rests with her....and she doesn't have evidence that it is unsafe!

Well, since Jefferson Parish President Aaron Broussard was indicted on Federal charges, this doesn't apply to him.

>>>Gov. Kathleen Blanco has suspended all deadlines for court cases, other legal proceedings, medical malpractice liabilities and administrative agencies and boards, from the time Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana until Sept. 25.

"The only way she can make herself look bad(in the MSM) is if she goes to war with another Democrat"

If Blanco doesn't look bad to the MSM by now, they are either:

1. deaf and blind; or

2. incredibly biased.

Take your pick.

let her go wading in it.

Maybe she has been. Maybe she's been drinking it. That would explain a lot.

I've said this before, but never in so deserving a situation as this.

Regardless of where you reside in our great nation, the next time you hear a sonic boom, it will likely have been caused by Governor "I'm drawing a Blanko" pulling her inflated head out of her own arse.

I think W is just sitting back letting these LL's (loser liberals) dig their own hole with the double talk while the heavy lifting gets done.

Meanwhile, kicking ass and taking names (that end in eaux)

Mississippi and Alabama turned their guard over, from what I read.

Got a source for that? It would be a reason for me to vote against Governor Riley.

Not that it matters with everything that is going on, but do you think she has anything to do with federal changes?

You missed the whole point, and I'm afraid that explaining it to you would be a effort in futility

Doubt I missed the point. I own rifles, shotguns and handguns. I have a well with generator power as well as a wood stove. (Live in the Pacific NW). I understand and pride myself on being self sufficient. However, Sometimes one has to be pragmatic instead of stubborn.

Everyone smart enough to vote against her evacuated on their own before the hurricane (with a few exceptions in hospitals, etc). Now you want to take away everybody else? Who will be left to vote for her?

Not the evacuation of Louisiana but the evacuation of the democratic stranglehold on the state.

So let me try ... our local government issues mandatory evacuation orders for the barrier islands when a storm threatens. They do not enforce the mandatory part, at least not vigorously. Instead, it is "give us the name of your next of kin," yada x3. The importance of the order is that it lets the government and commercial utilities off the hook for providing what would otherwise be necessary services. So if your mythical person wants to continue sipping the waterbed, more power to him. But if the house catches on fire, if the natural gas venting in his back yard blows, if another levee breaks, if the looters move in next door, if they want their cable back on ... forget it. That's the real issue - whether or not the rescue workers should continue to risk their lives over people too stubborn to leave the danger zone. Instead, we'll see them interviewed on the camera 3 days later ripping the authorities a new one for not taking care of them.

Oh sh*t. She could vote for herself and win another term. Then we're all doomed.

Then by all means stay in your home and drink out of your waterbed. LMFAO

Laugh all you want to. All that you need is a $39.95 water filter, or fuel to boil the water. A water bed has a LOT of water in it.

I think Governor Blanco has given us a new all around, all purpose cuss word. Just insert Blanco into any sentence that you normally would have used a four letter word.

The woman is the worst!
