Military says "No." to Nagin (Won't take part in Mayor's debacle)
CNN | 9/7/05 | CNN Headline News

Posted on 09/07/2005 5:41:44 AM PDT by RGSpincich

CNN Headline news reporter just stated that the military will not force folks from their homes. "Refusing to force Americans from their homes", said the noticeably British reporter. Further, they will not let residents deteriorate in their own homes. The military will continue to get water and food to those remaining in New Orleans, effectively undermining Nagin's mandatory evacuation order.

It happened in Florida last year.
Almost 2 million homes lost electricity, some for more than 12 weeks, but nobody gave me a $2,000 debit card.

Along with no electric goes no gas, no water and canned food.
You get a generator, you adjust, and you don't blame the authorities for the weather.

Assuming that you are white, sounds like Jesse, et al, are right.

This wouldn't be happening if the victims were white.

The army engineers should have used Nagin and Blanco to plug the levee. And then they could have lined up Reid, Pelosi Boxer, Fat Teddy etc... and used all their hot air to blow the water out of the basin and dry it out. Why didn't they think of that?

....'The basic homeowner is going to be screwed"....

If you OWN the home, you must have flood insurance if you are still paying for it. If you own it outright, you could drop the flood, but you deserve what you get living under sea level without insurance. If you live in gubmint housing, who cares? If it's a rent home, the landlord should have insurance. The gubmint can't sieze the lot that it's on,(except for maybe the new Supreme Ct ruling), but they can condemn the house as unfit to live in. That would be a total loss for insurance purposes.

I'm a hurricane Carla survivor from '61. That was the hurricane that started flood insurance pooling from the feds to reduce costs. Not many had flood insurance back then. If you live ANYWHERE on the coast and don't have it, shame on you. It's not that expensive. I think the limit is 16 ft ABOVE sea level, it's optional. I was over that in Seabrook Tx, but carried it anyway. Never flooded, but could have with a cat 4 or 5 storm. Even if you are 20ft high, you also have to take the 13 inch rainfall into consideration.

The liberals who refuse to evacuate? Seems to me they are independents who refuse to enter the giant maw of the gubmint and be ground to a pulp.

i love it! this mayor and governor are idiots that they could watch these people starve and dehydrate while they obviously are getting fed and watered themselves.....simply because they didnt want to encourage them to stay. if i remember correctly, it was their plan to set up these shelters. what were they thinking....the people could stay for a few hours and wade out?

New Orleans Lady SHUTS CNN'S SOLEDAD O'BRIEN DOWN!!!
CNN ^ | Sept. 8, 2005 | self

Posted on 09/08/2005 8:27:28 AM EDT by Poundstone

Anybody just see this lady in New Orleans SHUT DOWN CNN blabbermouth Soledad O'Brien? It was awesome! The lady (whose name I forgot) said her ancestors settled in New Orleans and she's lived there all her life. She said her neighborhood was high and dry, she had running water, and she wasn't going to evacuate. She blasted CNN and the MSM for showing only shots of flooded New Orleans, saying they weren't showing the parts of the city that were dry and inhabitable. Then she blasted the NO city government for failing to implement its own evacuation plan and evacuate inner-city people using buses. O'Brien tried a few times to rebut the "New Orleans lady," but the lady SHUT HER DOWN and seized control of the interview. In the end, O'Brien agreed to take her TV crew to the lady's neighborhood and show that. This was GREAT!!!

Do you have any information on the story regarding the NO Mayor sending the police to Las Vegas?
Just like the AiR America scandal, and Able Danger, the MSM seems to be hiding this story from the public. Go Figure.
I can't find anything on it. Perhaps you could point me to a link? Thanks~

What a wonderful in your face perspective of the complete breakdown on local levels. If I were more computer savvy, I'd send this photo to every media link I have!!!
Not that it would do any good~ By the way, Rush Limbaugh gave FR a plug the other day on his show.

Please read the thread and develop a basic understanding of what is being discussed before cherry picking a quote. You missed the whole point.

I don't dispute that. I'm just suggesting that if the military doesn't have the jurisdiction to evict people from their homes, they sure as hell have no business airlifting Happy Meals to stubborn people who insist on staying in their homes in a city that no longer exists.

You need some happy meals. A large portion of this city is relatively unaffected and you would know that if you weren't eating the media SWILL.

They really need to be thinking about dredging the canals to LOWER them and using the muck to RAISE parts of the city.

Lowering the canals would work great if we can just get the water to FLOW UPHILL.

No, there's not "water in the streets". Try TOXIC sludge from every chemical plant, dead body, and every other filth-source in the city.

Let me translate your post.

Slurp Slurp Slurp Baaah Baaah Baaah.

Your post is the sound of a sheep eating the media swill.
