CNN | 9/7/05 | CNN Headline News

CNN Headline news reporter just stated that the military will not force folks from their homes. "Refusing to force Americans from their homes", said the noticeably British reporter. Further, they will not let residents deteriorate in their own homes. The military will continue to get water and food to those remaining in New Orleans, effectively undermining Nagin's mandatory evacuation order.

What diseases do people get when they are dead that they don't already have when they are alive?

For those in the big pond...they will be getting sick within the next 3 to 4 weeks. There is no way to avoid that. The AF will spray, but you have hundreds of bodies out there. And the police can't keep coming out to your house to deliver food or water. Plus the looting folks...have to be escorted from the city.

I can see NO cops having to taser at least 500 people to get them out of the city. It'll be great to have a CNN camera guy along and watch each dopehead get zapped...and dragged onto a boat. And the lawsuits will just grow day by day. I can see this turning in a big joke.

This is true. I heard a DR in Ala say the other day that people were not going to get sick from dead bodies. He said that there were alot of media misconceptions going around. As a matter of fact the people would have been more apt to spread a disease alive instead of dead! The stupidity and gullibility of the media is just unreal!

The US military can not force people to leave their homes. Leave it to a Democrat to not be able to understand the role of the military- and to only want to use them to avoid a personal mess.

IMO-Nagin needs to be removed from office-but that is not up to me.

Some needs to Nagin no more microphone or press for him. Is that not he was helling about a few days ago. Maybe he should go to Vegas with police and let real men do his job (National Guards).

The military cannot do policing action in the US.
Its called posse camatatis. I really think that the Governor and the Mayor are acting under the orders of the DNC. They are trying to get G Bush to commit an impeachable offense.

Can Nagin order the Military to do anything? Aren't the National Guard under the direction of Governor?

Fellow Freepers:

At the suggestion of writer Michelle Malkin last Friday, I have cobbled together a blogsite called Texas Clearinghouse for Katrina Aid to serve as a clearinghouse for refugee efforts in Texas.

Texas is getting more refugees than any other state -- that's fine, we'll take them all -- but we need help providing them with food, clothing, and shelter.

If you are a refugee, you can information that will help you find relief. If you want to donate or volunteer, you can find someone who needs you.

Right now the site mostly covers Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio but I will add various churches, schools, and other charities in Ft. Worth and Lubbock tonight. My wife spent yesterday at Reunion Arena in Dallas handing out care packages and otherwise ministering to the refugees as a representative of her employer.

There are a lot of churches and other organizations in Texas that need help in dealing with the problem and I would greatly appreciate it if you would get the word out.

Many thanks,

Michael McCullough

"Absolutely. The mayor now wants someone else to do their dirty work for him."

Exactamento,my friend. You have nailed it.

Wouldn't he just love to have a picture of a vicious soldier standing over with a gun or handcuffing a black grandmother and grandchild". (sarc)

His cops need a rest in Vegas, don't you know. (more sarc)

Old NY cops and firefighters RAN, RAN to, RAN TO, the WTC on 9/11 and would not leave their brothers. They died trying. These guys need a vacation.

And how about the good cops who's good acts are being tarnished by the behavior of this clown.

A sad part of this whole thing is that the works of marveously unselfish charity are going underreported while the liberals hog the media with their trash.

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin calls Lt. Gen. Russel Honore a "John Wayne dude" who can "get some stuff done." "He came off the doggone chopper, and he started cussing and people started moving...."

"I really, really wanna ditch-witch,
You want a Cindy Sheehan? Get outta here! LOL"

(IN LARGE FRIGID LETTERS) A ditch witch-witch is a tool for digging ditches, a power tool, in fact. Not Cindy Al-Sheehani. (END LARGE FRIGID LETTERS)

I'd tell you to bite your tongue, but since you did this on the keyboard, biting your keyboard might be more appropriate, if potentially less painfull.... ;)

"But don't let those people try and sue the City later because they got some "disease" or because then ran out of food/water in a couple of weeks."

Why not? The City was supposed to prevent such a thing in the first place. They failed to do their job, for which they've been accepting paychecks from the people of New Orleans for years. Payback time.

Unfortunately your tag of liberal may be misplaced.....could be just a lot of AMERICAN CITIZENS who would like to keep what they have and even possibly rebuild their city. Believe it or not, some people are capable of this without a lot of help from the all powerful government.

To me this is a lot of spit and fire coming out of a man that is basically useless. There are a lot of people that he has already let back in a couple of days ago that say a lot of their possessions in their homes are dry and they are staying to protect their property. If they have enough food and water they should be allowed to stay.Is this the same guy who said buses and people would be there to ''assist'' the old and infirmed away from the hurricane.Today they found a guys mother. Dead from drowning.I have a memo for Nagin. Nobody's listening to your orders!
