President Bush had a very busy day today, meeting with Secretary of Education, Margaret Spellings and First Lady Laura Bush, to discuss the educational needs of children displaced by Hurricane Katrina and how states might be able to absorb the cost of the large numbers of new students. He also met with the Cabinet to discuss the recovery efforts following the hurricane, and reuniting family members with each other, healthcare provision and finances.
At noon, the President met with representatives from national voluntary organizations to discuss how best to help the Americans who are evacuees from the hurricane. He pledged a full investigation into the response to the hurricane.
The President and First Lady also paid their respects to the late Chief Justice of the United States, William Rehnquist, spending a few moments bowing their heads at his casket.
Continue to pray for the President and the people in the ravaged Gulf Coast region, and enjoy this island of refuge from the blind attacks against our GOOD President on the Daily Dose!
owie.
That sounds like something I did to my left-pinkie-toe several years ago. I swung my feet a bit too hard getting out of bed and slammed my foot into the nightstand. HARD! It was the color of concord grapes at the beginning, didn't lose all the color for several months. I had to wear pretty loose sandals, luckily it was summertime.
Hope your toe is okay. Hunter/Boomer will win over the kitties!
THank you for that article link. Quite fitting for Sanity Island!
Ouch to you, too! Cats are not speaking to me but the bright note in this is that it helps with their diets. They are not eating as much because they have to "stand guard"! LOL
That sounds pretty....my laundry room is still waiting to be painted...sigh!
thanks for the warning! Have you ever watched that show about "flipping" houses? I like that one too.
Making throws for your furniture on those shows looks so easy, I don't dare try it...a sewer Im not..
God bless this man--he has all the honor, passion, and love of his fellow Americans that anyone could want, and yet has to put up with all this cr** 24/7. I thing one of the things that keeps him centered is Laura.....I'm sure they have very long talks every evening when he gets home from the meat grinder!
IMHO they will refuse to go and this will start another round of lawlessness and bitterness
Howdy, howdy. Good to see you around.
I've made curtains before. Drapes, even at JC Penneys, can get expensive!
Great posts...the both of you.
Thank you for the ping. This article sums up my views quite nicely.
I'm afraid you're right. They are going to fight this because they don't want looters to take over their houses!
We used to watch that every week! We all loved it. I got lots of fun ideas. I did "While You Were Out" for mr.h's office for his b-day--put up a border, curtains, organized everything . . . it was fun and he was soooo surprised!(it was only fair because his office is so much smaller than mine--LOL!)
I didn't sew a single stitch--just tucking in and upholstry pins (twisted at the end so they stay in the stuffing)
OK, the politicians and their media enablers are crucifying our president; he can't (overtly) fight back, but we can!
First, we must contact members of the HS&GA Committee who announced today that they plan to conduct an IMMEDIATE investigation of the 'government' (read President Bush/Cherthoff/Brown).
We must DEMAND that this committee AVOID a political witchhunt and investigate ALL levels of government, with particular emphasis on state and local incompetence. We should also insist that they delay this investigation (and their pathetic need for attention) until the crisis is actually over!

[GAG: 'cry baby' Voinovich (R-OH) is on this committee -- Ohio and Dolly . . . we need to get busy!!]
ADDITIONALLY, WE SHOULD DEMAND THAT BOTH THE MEDIA AND THE POLITICIANS START BEHAVING RESPONSIBLY . . . THE MEDIA MUST START REPORTING THE FACTS RATHER THAN DNC TALKING POINTS AND THE POLITICIANS MUST START BEHAVING LIKE STATESMEN/WOMEN RATHER THAN WHINY CHILDREN!

Thanks for the links...Im on it....but today I have noticed that the truth is finally coming forth...
I don't even think their part of the city is okay as far as drinking water goes. Not to mention the mold if they got even a small amount of flooding.
