Published: Sep 6, 2005 NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A New Orleans man was arrested and charged with shooting at a military rescue helicopter.
Authorities said the bullets apparently did not hit anything.
Wendell Bailey, 20, was taken into custody Monday night by agents with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The agents were in the neighborhood to investigate neighbors' complaints of gunfire and heard shots from an apartment window as a helicopter flew over.

Guys like him were shot on the spot after the Galveston hurricane circa 1900. We should be doing it today if he's caught dead cold shooting at helicopters and other rescue personnel.

Agents heard shots from an apartment window as a helicopter flew over the neighborhood.
While waiting for more agents, they saw two men leave the building, talking about the shooting. The men ran back inside.
Federal agents say a search of the apartment turned up two revolvers.
Prosecutors say Bailey had previous convictions for possessing cocaine and distributing marijuana.
Letten says the other man was released pending further investigation.
If convicted, Bailey could get up to 20 years in prison on the aircraft charge and 10 years on the firearms charge.
