I loved how he kept saying THEY need to do something and THEY need to get in there and THEY need to do that and THEY need to talk with each other.
Not a WE or ME in the entire tirade.
Margaret Thatcher could have handled this easy. She's the exception.
Not a specific link, it is common knowledge
"This woman is giving all us women a bad name. There is no crying in crisis management! "
Remark of the Decade Award Winner
Blanco is a walking advertisement against women in positions of power as it stands today. Regardless of the reality of power politics and women's suitability for it, it will be tough for voters to forget about such a quivering mass of incompetence and the dead that resulted from it.
I was golfing with some city council members on Sunday and one of them remarked that this disaster was going to change the way local officials are elected for the next couple of years at least. This lady's take was, "Now, when people go to the polls to elect a mayor or governor, they'll ask themselves whether they will be able to put their lives in the hands of these people, or will they fold under the pressure of a disaster."
Of course, you're right.
Nothing like trying to make a little breaking news.
Come to think of it, I wish I had done the same thing. They say the brain is the second thing to go :)
I use one of those roll up keyboards. They are soft rubber, can be rolled up or folded up for the laptop bag, and have good key feed-back.
Diane Sawyer was "informed?" Are you nuts? She had Jamie Lee Whitt, who WROTE THE EVACUATION PLAN and Blanco, charged with EXECUTING the plan and couldn't think of any tough questions to ask (she saved those for the Republicans). Sawyer is such a pathetic Democrat Party Suck-Up, but then, that's what they hired her for.
Thank you. Isn't she cute?!
I hope those that are talking about weak women are freaken looking left!
There are alot of strong RIGHT women around.
Somebody assumed because I made a post about teachers getting fired, that I assumed they were all RATS. They're not, but by golly, strong women are right! lol
P.S. We just don't generally like to mud-wrestle.
They had a decent plan. Nothing in the plan was followed.
If the good people of Louisiana re-elect this weeping willow, this vaccuous waste of space, the don't have the sense God gave a crawfish.
"I was abdicating a clear chain of command..."
Do you suppose he meant to say "advocating"? : )
Thank you. I just started choking, I was laughing that hard : )
Well, I'd take Maggie Thatcher or Jean Kirkpatrick over 90% of the current GOP crop any time.
I heard this sales pitch repeatedly -- both in public forums and private meetings -- over a 10-day period I spent with Blanco last month. It's a pitch calculated to make people feel confident again about Louisiana, as a place to live and as a place to invest. And despite a general consensus that the odds are against her, it's a well-received message. "I didn't realize how pro-business Louisiana was until tonight," Jay Sholl, a senior executive with Trammell Crow, said as the evening ended at Boudro's. "What makes this refreshing is the personal commitment of the governor.
I wonder if any of those companies decided to move to New Orleans?
