Microsoft plans to outsource more, says ex-worker [Moving 1,000+ jobs to China]

Excerpt -

Microsoft is on track to outsource more than 1,000 jobs a year to China, according to blistering evidence released yesterday in Microsoft's increasingly nasty spat with Google over an employee who jumped ship in July.

In a revelation that highlights the complexity of China President Hu Jintao's visit to Seattle and Microsoft on Monday, legal filings detailed claims of how Microsoft had offended the Chinese government by not outsourcing as many jobs as promised to Chinese technology vendors.

Chief Executive Steve Ballmer visited China in 2003 and promised to step up the pace, from $33 million worth of work a year to $55 million a year, according to a statement by Kai-Fu Lee, a former vice president who left to work for Google in July. Lee was charged with smoothing over relations with China and finding jobs that could be shifted to Chinese contract workers.

"At the time of my departure, MS was on track to outsource over 1,000 jobs a year to China," he said in a court declaration. A Microsoft spokeswoman said the company has transferred some projects to China "in order to free up teams here for other work."

Microsoft is parterning with the chicoms NOW and Gates is praising them NOW.

And I created a whole new thread where I called it "disgusting" and him an "idiot" when he did it. However if you followed any of the links I've provided above, you'd see it's clear that others like IBM have been colluding much closer and for much longer with the Chicoms. Show me anyone from IBM saying anything negative about communism. Ever. Meanwhile, here's Microsoft's president:

Oh I see now that was supposedly humor. Yeah, real funny, trying to make jokes about issues of this seriousness.

It's totally overblown, but whatever. That was the 40s, and the Nazis didnt do anything they couldnt already do.

Black made a few good points that shouldn't be ignored. IBM was driven by profits. It saw an opportunity to expand rapidly in the wake of the Nazis. Its equipment was used to tabulate and cross-reference Jews. IBM (and Business Week) would probably like to forget about this sad episode in corporate history; nonetheless, I think it's important to examine past conduct when we look at today's companies, in order to fully understand how bad collaborations can hurt human beings.

On the other hand, Microsoft is parterning with the chicoms NOW and Gates is praising them NOW.

I've been consistent in condemning any kind of partnership with the ChiComs. The ChiComs are evil bastards. They don't care about human life -- just clinging to power and financing mob rule.

IBM US didn't open them... DEHOMAG did, which was under control of the Nazis.

Watson recvd, repudiated, and returned an award from the Nazis.

I wonder what this member of IBMs external advisory board who is a Nazi death camp survivor thinks of the claims?

This is in the long past.

Microsoft, like Yahoo, is enabling the ChiComs TODAY. Bill Gates praises their "capitalism." They gave access to the source code. They are partnering with the ChiComs, just like Yahoo is.

I don't understand why you still think they are the good guys - at the very least, they're just as bad as IBM. You should feel similarly about both of them, if you are halfway honest.

YOU LINKED TO A JOKE ARTICLE AND TOOK IT SERIOUSLY!!!! there was no such meeting!!!!! ROTFL - not only can't you read source code... you just plain can't read.

HERE IS THE ARTICLE YOU LINKED TO...
Segfault-y humor: "Newly elected president George W. Bush met this week with Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft Corporation, to discuss the latest threat to the American way of life, as communism once again rears its ugly head. "Last century communism came in the form of the Russian bear," President Bush stated at a press conference outside Camp David, where he and Ballmer met. 'But now in the 21st century, we are seeing the beginnings of a new communist plot against the free market and American values: the Linux penguin.'

Adam,

He hardly ever bothers to read anything. He used to put up a really long set of links from yahoo searching for Linus and communism... I went through the first five and none of them had anything to do with Linus and Communism... I never saw him respond to that, and I doubt he will respond to this..

In 2002, Republicans got 60 percent of Microsoft's soft money, Microsoft Political Action Committee contributions and individual employee contributions. For the 2004 election cycle, at least through late August, the figures are reversed. Democrats got 61 percent of all forms of Microsoft political contributions and Republicans got 39 percent.

(snip)

One of the most striking changes has been among employees. Even in 2000, with a Democratic-led U.S. Department of Justice antitrust case raging, individual Microsoft employees gave more to Democrats (53 percent) than Republicans. In this election cycle, employees have ratcheted up their giving to Democrats to 73 percent of a $1.13 million total.

MICROSOFT - DNC SUPPORTERS TO THE HILT.

My point stands, Gates and Ballmer are both on record condeming communism. I already asked you if you had anything equivalent from anyone at IBM. Apparently, and as expected, no, you do not.

No, as normal and expected, I'm exactly right. More from Microsoft does typically go to Republicans. I already gave you a link that proves this, and then following YOUR own link:

"In 2002, Republicans got 60 percent of Microsoft's soft money..."

And more importantly we already know for a fact that open source software drives all DNC operations, and fits perfectly into their philosophy.

Communism.org refers to Linux as a perfect example of communism. There's no conclusive proof of what they are currently using themselves, netcraft only probes remotely and communism.org seems to be running on a commercial host anyway. But their website makes their beliefs very clear.

All we need is to have the Chinese inserting secret backdoors into the most prevelent operating system. The government should forbid this outright.

The government has no problems with it. When you consider that the one company that manufactures batteries required by our precision guided missiles outsourced it's production to China a couple of years ago how could they?
