Microsoft is on track to outsource more than 1,000 jobs a year to China, according to blistering evidence released yesterday in Microsoft's increasingly nasty spat with Google over an employee who jumped ship in July.In a revelation that highlights the complexity of China President Hu Jintao's visit to Seattle and Microsoft on Monday, legal filings detailed claims of how Microsoft had offended the Chinese government by not outsourcing as many jobs as promised to Chinese technology vendors.
Chief Executive Steve Ballmer visited China in 2003 and promised to step up the pace, from $33 million worth of work a year to $55 million a year, according to a statement by Kai-Fu Lee, a former vice president who left to work for Google in July. Lee was charged with smoothing over relations with China and finding jobs that could be shifted to Chinese contract workers.
"At the time of my departure, MS was on track to outsource over 1,000 jobs a year to China," he said in a court declaration. A Microsoft spokeswoman said the company has transferred some projects to China "in order to free up teams here for other work."

Chinese bloggers posting their thoughts via Microsoft's net service face restrictions on what they can write.
Weblog entries on some parts of Microsoft's MSN site in China using words such as "freedom", "democracy" and "demonstration" are being blocked.
It is now time for some Monty Python.....
LOL, the "idiot" manifesto. When losing an argument, use larger fonts!
I wanted to make sure you didn't miss a word, since you ignored them every other time they were posted.
Ah the idiot response, respond ad hominem, not to the content.
How about addressing the content?
I'm still waiting for quotes where Gates or Ballmer made statements about Communism other than to praise it as capitalism.
Links, quotes.
Put up or shut up!

since since MS met your criteria! They are giving their OS to China for FREE.
Is there an exorcism available for it?
LOL! Very good!
"When those things happen, I assure you I will speak out against them at every opportunity."
They did those things - time for you to speak out against microsoft at every opportunity!
We're waiting.
My guess is that "every opportunity" actually means "every opportunity that I feel like admitting I was wrong" which essentially means never.
From what I understand GE was suspended for a while a few months ago. You are more willing to engage the troll than I am. I think one thing you are missing in your analysis of his posts, is that GE comes to this conservative forum and posts one thing, and one thing only - anti open source tirades. Read his posts in series and you'll see that he almost never comments on any of the political issues of the day. He'll sometimes rail against outsourcing as long as certain sacred cows aren't involved (i.e., Microsoft), but that is absolutely the extent of his posting here.
I don't think GE has any conservative, republican, or even libertarian leanings. He just uses this forum as a place to spout his anti open-source drivel.
Yup. The term "troll" is overused on this site. In the case of the brass buzzard though, it is an accurate description. Look back at his posting history. You can literally go back through hundreds of posts and find nothing but his johnny-one-note diatribe against open source.
You've been here a few months now. How difficult do you think it would be to post here since 1999 and have nothing to say about any political topic that has come up during that time?
I've been doing online stuff since before mcdonalds.com existed. I pretty much know what a troll is when I see them. In the short run, it's easy to mistake passion with true troll-like behavior. To be honest with you, that's the exact mistake I made with some of your earlier posts when you first signed up. Seeing your posts elsewhere has led me to take you more seriously. I may well disagree with you, but that's o.k.. If I wanted to only talk with someone I agreed with, I'd be mumbling in the dark to myself.
GE does nothing here but play the role of the disruptor. That is the very definition of the "troll". I sometimes think Linus ran over his dog with a sports car or something. Heck, even B2K gets a little slack with me, because at least he seems to have opinions about other stuff.
