U.S. commercial air carriers continue transporting tens of thousands of evacuees from the New Orleans airport to destinations throughout the nation.

Rooftop air rescue efforts continue. One rescue chopper crashed late today. Crew members are reported safe. Gunmen who fired upon bridge repair contractors were killed by law enforcement.

To date, an estimated 70 countries and U.S. businesses have pledged hundreds of millions of dollars, supplies, food and equipment to assist the United States' efforts in Katrina's aftermath. Lt. General Honore described the damage to Mississippi today, "all infrastructure south of Jackson, MS is either damaged or destroyed." Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice visited the devastated areas, and attended Sunday church services in Mobile, Alabama.

Elsewhere, Sean Penn's rescue boat, sans plug and full of his personal entourage, reportedly sank during launch in New Orleans. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) threatened to punch President Bush, and Jefferson Parish President Broussard decried that the bureaucracy of FEMA has committed murder.

Streaming Video:

All information is subject to change. Many stations are relying on their corporate parents to configure and maintain Internet streaming. Because of the intense interest in the feeds, they may be unavailable at times because of network congestion or a problem feeding the video to the streaming servers.

WWL-TV New Orleans - WWL-TV is operating from studios at Louisiana Public Broadcasting. CBS has a relay during the morning and afternoon. When available, use the CBS relay first as they have greater streaming capacity. They have a secondary stream from Yahoo. WWL-TV is also offering a special low-bandwidth audio-only stream for dial-up users.

WDSU-TV New Orleans - The news staff has started to return to temporary news studios near New Orleans. However, expect evening coverage from Hearst-Argyle sister stations WAPT Jackson and WESH Orlando when the New Orleans staff needs to take a break.

WGNO-TV New Orleans - New Orleans' ABC affiliate has returned to the air with WBRZ-TV and launched video streaming with continuous Katrina coverage.

WPMI-TV Mobile, AL - WPMI is webcasting from 5:30am - 10:30pm CDT. When off air, you can view pre-recorded reports on demand. This feed is often unreliable.

WKRG-TV Mobile, AL - This station is providing good coverage of the situation to the east in Mississippi and Alabama. However, the station is now signing off at around 10:30pm CDT like WWL and WPMI.

WJTV-TV Jackson, MS - The CBS affiliate in Jackson is providing live coverage for both the Jackson area and south Mississippi (knowing a lot of media in that area is off the air).

WFAA-TV Dallas, TX - WFAA-TV is here because Dallas is one of the evacuation cities.

United Radio From New Orleans: WWL-AM, WNOE-FM, "KISS-FM," WRNO-FM, WYLD-FM, and WJBO-AM (Clear Channel & Entercom) who have joined forces as United Radio From New Orleans, and they are streaming.

Gulf Coast Storm Network (Clear Channel Radio) - Clear Channel offers radio listeners across the gulf coast access to a simulcast emergency radio service. This service seems primarily focused on Alabama and Mississippi, but does cover Louisiana to some degree.

Administrative Moderator, I asked Howlin to please not post to me again, beginning "NOW," in my last post to her. She continues to bizarrely clearly pursue me. Please rectify this situation that is clearly out of bounds in known site rules and manners. Thank you in advance.

Coming from the land of the truly random driveby, Los Angeles, I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that they're reasonably good shots. In Los Angeles, drivebys usually take out everyone *but* the people they were shooting at.

Which is not to say that the Viet and Hispanic gangs in Houston wouldn't take out the amateurs from NO on general principles - they'd just be neater about it than you implied. :)

And I honestly couldn't care less if they are messy or neat, as long as it's done,,,,

I've got one for em,,,,,they should drop them off at Dobie High school here in the southeast,,,cause those gangs don't take any prisoners,,,,

DEMS are screaming because they realize this mass relocation will cost them SEATS, and when it comes down to it, that's all that seems to matter to them...

I believe that's why JESSE is fighting so hard to get people BACK in New Orleans!!

I also think the dems think like many of us here do that getting these people out of NO an into the real world will help their self esteem and they will see that hard work and ambition are very rewarding, both mentally and financially...they could become conservative converts. they should be able to clearly see how the dims have been talking out of both sides of their mouth and when push came to shove the dems were AWOL.

I wish them all the success in the world. I'd much rather see American citizens taking jobs and assistance than those from other countries that broke our laws to get and work here.

Now lets see if President Bush does something to stop the flow of illegals to help these people get jobs at good wages instead of competing with illegals. Americans first. Remove a few million illegals and the housing shortage will be solved...

Oh, they planned for it. They just tossed that part of the plan out the window (or forgot it) because it wasn't convenient.

What's the chance that Nagin wanted to evac people on the buses, but Blanco refused to shelter any of the people outside the New Orleans area? Nagin has consistently claimed that "there were too many frickin' cheifs" and that he needed more authority. I'm not saying that Nagin is innocent, but we don't know what sort of pressures the Louisiana political machine put on him- especially since we know he was already feuding with Baton Rouge.

And if a significant portion of these people *do* make it good out from under the "protective" wings of the Dems, and this gets publicized - the Dems are completely finished and their entire agenda gets rolled up and ashbinned as far as the black community is concerned.

Then he should have used the media spotlight he was in and publicized the whole thing. He would have been a hero instead of being an accomplice in the attempted negligent homicide of 250,000 people.

You do *not* put political games ahead of the lives of 250,000 of your fellow citizens. That's monstrous. We hung people after WW2 for almost the same exact reason.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to ask him about illegals and jobs and housing for those displaced by Katrina..what can he say? I look at it as an opportunity to put more pressure on him until he does the right thing...

Great. But hey Howlin, are you ready to eat crow yet about your insistence that the city buses were planned for and used to evacuate the citizenry OUT of the city of New Orleans prior to Katrina's arrival?

I dunno, a report I read that the city mayor of NOLA said "everyone is on their own" when a hurricane above CAT 3 is barrelling in toward NOLA. Pundits, experts, and the National Geographic Magazine all said NOLA, from the levee's to the Democrat mayor were ill-prepared for a hurricane higher than CAT 3 as it is.

And it plainly states in LA's emergency plan that the levees in NO could very well fail in a CAT 3 or higher,,

Good grief. That sounds like something I'd hear from my seven year olds. I'm tempted to get up and make sure they are still in bed.

Absolutely, the dems recognize it and thats one of the reasons the blame game started early, they see their power floating away...What many of these "underprivileged" (I prefer underutilized, used below their potential)don't realize is that they have more in common with conservatives than liberals...

Have you kept up on Katrina, via FR threads, or did you mainly watch CNN ?

Howlin is correct and you're not looking too good. There have been several threads posted to FR about several years old NO escape plans, should a disaster strike. THE BUSES ARE IN THE PLANS!

Now, if I, who am on vacation and not on line all that much have seen and read this here, what's your excuse?

Have some crow...it's cold, but that shouldn't bother you. :-)

There was a National Geographic Channel special in 2002, complete with computer predictions and computer animation, and it showed the levees bursting exactly as how they did in the aftermath of Katrina. It was stunning at how accurate it was.
