Oh, they planned for it. They just tossed that part of the plan out the window (or forgot it) because it wasn't convenient.

What's the chance that Nagin wanted to evac people on the buses, but Blanco refused to shelter any of the people outside the New Orleans area? Nagin has consistently claimed that "there were too many frickin' cheifs" and that he needed more authority. I'm not saying that Nagin is innocent, but we don't know what sort of pressures the Louisiana political machine put on him- especially since we know he was already feuding with Baton Rouge.

Then he should have used the media spotlight he was in and publicized the whole thing. He would have been a hero instead of being an accomplice in the attempted negligent homicide of 250,000 people.

You do *not* put political games ahead of the lives of 250,000 of your fellow citizens. That's monstrous. We hung people after WW2 for almost the same exact reason.

well, if there were "too many frickin" chiefs then why was he beggin some of those chiefs for help last week when he was on his cussing rampage???

I'm just being a smart alec,,,you do have a good point....
