a career in business management, or human resources, or public relations --whatever he might be inclined to pursue. Somebody should organize that.

I agree. This kid is worthy of help.

Now the school has at least one bus if it ever reopens.

Priceless...What a great line.

This kid should be doing the morning TV shows as a hero. I know this will never happen but their is hope.

~keep hope alive~

I like your uncle Jimmy already.

Sadly, I'm saddled with an automatic right now. Can't wait to get rid of it.

>>I suspect it has something to do with how he was raised by his mother.

And his father, I bet.

The question is: Will he be charged with a crime? I heard he might be.

For what, the crime of not consulting a lawyer first or the crime of using common sense?

After 3fi hours of trying to get information and after talking to the other systems represented, a West Monroe police officer talked with a National Guardsman who said there was no certainty the group would be allowed into the city on Friday, Saturday or even Sunday

Why would the National Guardsman say that? Who was preventing help from not entering NOLA?

I heard many other citizens heading down to help in NOLA were also turn away. WHY?

This is the $64,000 dollar question.

Sounds like my old Boy Scout patrol. They gave me and my brother all the JD's. So we worked with that. Third best patrol in our district, out of a few hundred in one two-day competition.

How ever did we learn semaphore so fast? We cheated! I made sure we got a few letters wrong, too. We did a few other things, positive and negative. Threw at least one tough competing patrol off -- faked a staged "rescue" they had to do so that they missed the real one.

Later I joined the Order of the Arrow, they had an pre-entry overnighter test where you had to sleep out on your own, and do a bunch of tests and such. I was a rainy night, you had to have a blazing fire going by 11pm. I was one of the only ones to have a fire -- why? I used small parrifin firelogs I had boiled together at home with rolled newspaper and candle parrifin. Made them to look like fat twigs. It worked.

Depending on the size, they can probably carry 35-40 people.

If you follow the rules

I saw the young man being interviewed and he was asked if he had ever driven a bus before and he said no. He picked up people along the way and got around 80 to safety. God bless him. A hero for sure.
