I was using my Eva Gabor voice....darlink....
But really tsarina doesn't apply does it. After all Governeurette Blank-o thinks to herself, "Je suis la Reine de la Louisiane."
She needs to be subjected to whatever provisions of the Napoleonic Code deal with traitors and "a queen who betrays her subjects..." Sorry, I'm just boiling with rage over this neurotic woman and believe she must be removed "toot sweet" as one man wrote on a blog recently.

Actually, as I look into their responsibilities, an LA "FEMA" is a more accurate characterization of their mission, role, and assets. But under the LA military department and commanded by NG generals.

If only we had someone to take control in LA because I don't see a similar good outcome for that state...just more chances for abuse of the money.

> She invoked authority granted her as governor under LA law. What she is refusing to do is invoke Federal law that passes authority to FEMA to coordinate crisis response. Legally, there is a state level emergency in LA right now but not a federal one. Looks like I was the one who was confused, by the headline -- "No state of emergency". Thanks all for replies and clarification. Back to the matter at hand...

I wish you were right but I doubt..The MSM is working double overtime to bash Buch and squash any and all stories like th eone posted here. Most in the US will NEVER hear the real facts. Every NYC station is blasting the president and most I have talked to so far are swallowing it %100.

ASK YOURSELF THIS: Who is actually controlling that woman?
I was wondering the same thing...its hard to write all those orders, and to craft them s-o-o-o-o carefully, when you're crying in your ice cream and watching Lifetime Network for Women.
Sorry, but Blanco was not up to the challenge. Neither was Nagin, Sen. Mary or the MSM. Looks like we need another "Buckhead" moment to get this straightened out.

That's because NY has a lot of people who believe the evil emperor mythology about the President. This just fits into their preconceived notions. You couldn't budge those notions with dynamite.

What are the impeachment proceedings for Louisiana governors?
It is way past time to go on offense. Blanco, et al's inability cost the lives of thousands, impacted not only the economy of LA but the national GNP and impacted the Louisiana environment beyond comprehension.
We don't have the luxury of having this blamed on President Bush (he deserves better anyway even if we did have the luxury).
It is obvious where the negligence occurred and these errors need to see daylight to prevent anything of this magnitude from possibly happening again.
The dead, the mourning and the traumatized citizens of Louisiana deserve better and they deserve justice.

If ever a recall of an elected official was warranted, this is it.
The incompetence displayed by her and by Nagin the Mayor of NO is truly breathtaking.

The whole LA situation is so convoluted. That's why I was wondering about Napoleonic Law (albeit just in passing).
Thanks for your response, JasonC. It is obvious that LA politicos are not very good at their jobs, to say the least. And, I thought Aruban law and order was "messed up." Seems like LA is neck and neck with them.

Police shot and killed at least five people Sunday after gunmen opened fire on a group of contractors traveling across a bridge on their way to make repairs, authorities said. Why would "contractors fire on other contractors? Competition? I think the 'urban myth" machine os working overtime.

Date: 9/3/2005 Governor Blanco Announces Executive Orders
Executive Order NO. KBB 2005- 26- Declares a state of public health emergency to allow licensed medical professionals and personnel in other states to provide assistance in Louisiana. This is indeed an interesting one, since up here in the Seattle area, there have been Northwest Medical Teams packed and ready to go to LA since before the storm, yet the doctor who was heading the team couldn't go until he was "authorized" to provide assistance in LA. The leftist teevee snooze programs up here downplayed this a lot, but that info snuck through a couple of times on the "local human interest" stories. The reporters were trying to do the big build up of the local teams [which is just fine- they deserve it for what they do], but a few sentences slipped through when they were talking about why the Team van with $200,000 worth of medical and household supplies was still sitting in Seattle instead of being on the way down to LA.
Of course, Gov. Blankmind wails and gnashes her teeth and cries that nobody's helping, but then you find out that she and her office of loser bureaucrats are what's causing the problem.
Just thought I'd add that in for those of you who are keeping score. And if this is happening in Seattle, doncha think it's happening all around the country?
Just like the caravan of 100 boats and volunteers that were driven down to LA from out-of-state (!!?) to assist and were turned away by a junior deputy LA Wildlife dept. agent.
Cripes! Ya got thousands of people trying to help, you're turning them away or not allowing them to come, and yet yer cryin' yer eyes out of teevee that somebody needs to come and help ya. What a bunch of maroons!

The way Dems are with money, she is probably making sure she can maintain control of donations in order to skim a few bucks on the side for her next campaign.
She should be ashamed of herself! Sure hope the people waitng on the bridges in NO remember this come the next election!
