I've been watching this on tv since Day One. She can't keep in house what's already been broadcast all over the world. She made a disaster a disaster. Leave it to a democrat to pull that off.

"... President Bush is not receiving the brunt of blame, it's rightfully being blamed on state and local tsars..."

Your statement wants to make me laugh. Are you so out of touch as to believe that Dims, MSM, Local Officials, etc, are not going to lay ALL blame on Bush? The Dim offense will be more intense than anything we have ever seen in the history of our beautiful America. I home that the Bush admin has a paper trail to the truth.

He's getting slammed from every direction across the board.

This is one of many sources that can refute your claim: Drudge Report - ABC Poll: Bush not taking brunt of Katrina criticism. (One of many if you decide to search the internet)

Notice the difference in present tense and past tense. I said HE IS NOT BEARING THE BRUNT AND YOU ARE SAYING HE WILL BEAR THE BRUNT. There are many comments, polls, interviews on the internet showing local/state officials are receiving the negative shots now. You are right that the dims along with their minions will try to shift public opinion but they have't accomplished it yet. That's all I was sayingl

Blanco and Nagin

The same democRatic officials who blame Bush for Katrina, never mobilized their own communities for evacuation.

The same democRatic officials who welcome the annual "Southern Decadence" celebration over Labor Day weekend, now asks for our prayers.

Message to Blanco and Nagin

Why don't you consider that it is you who are doing something wrong?

It wasn’t Incompetence! It was a lie from the Bush administration!

>...As of Saturday, Blanco still had not declared a state of emergency, the senior Bush official said.

The article is from the 9/4 Washington post: http://tinyurl.com/7gsng
Note the correction posted at the top of the article.

Correction to This Article
A Sept. 4 article on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina incorrectly said that Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco (D) had not declared a state of emergency. She declared an emergency on Aug. 26.

Great. And when did the governor and mayor call for an evacuation? An evacuation that NEITHER one did anything to facilitate?

Though the mayor did tell the folks heading to the Superdome to have food, water and supplies for three days. Wonder why?

If the Free Republic cares about protecting it's reputation for credibility, it should delete the article posted on September 4, 2005 titled Gov. Kathleen Blanco: No State of Emergency. The statement that as of Sunday, Septemver 4 (6 days after the hurricane Katrina hit land) Governor Blanco had yet to declare a state of emergency is patently false. See the following link for verification that she actually declared a state of emergency on August 26 http://gov.louisiana.gov/Press_Release_detail.asp?id=973.

Apparently the Washington post stated this based on information from an anonymous high level white house source. I guess the reporter failed to check this because they could not believe that anyone would lie about a fact that was so easy to check on.

Anyway, this statement turned out to be very inflamnatory, and untiled one reads very, very far down on the comments, they don't even get to the point of finding out that the post was based on a false statement.

If you leave this article, it should have a clear statement at the beginning retracting the error, unless, of course, what you are really after is not the truth was rather going to any lengths to try to blame democrats and vindicate republicans over this tragedy. Obviously a lot of "young conservatives got some great satisfaction out of this article, as it allowed them to do this. Amazing, that you would attempt to paint the democrats as "spinning" by printing a story based on a lie.

I find it more amazing that liberals such as yourself imply the Gov of Louisiana has requested assistance from the Federal government as a portion of a declaration of emergency, and was denied assistance.

It has repeatedly been offered by governmental and non-governmental organizations alike, only to be refused by Louisiana's Democrat Govenor to 'spin' the events as though Federal government has been negligent.

Apparantly the Governor of Louisiana intends to declare an emergency within Louisiana, but not promulgate the emergency action plans already in place by local, state, and federal emergency agencies, meanwhile alleging federal negligence.

To phrase this another way, she should either lead, follow, or get the heck out of the way.

The only lies I have seen have been the implication that federal and national level emergency assistance had been negligent. Those lies have constantly emanated from socialist democrats.

I also see nothing wrong with Louisiana attempting to handle the situation themeselves. It does appear though, that State level socialists seek to maintain their absolute power and stifle constructive results thereby providing justification to national level socialists seeking to authorize federal intervention without respect of state authority. Such a rebellious action would force the federal government to be liable for the situation, and allow the national level socialists to blame national conservative policies where they previously respected the authority of the States.

My reply to the sender was basically that everything printed by the Washington Post and the mainstream media is filled with distortion, untruths, spin, outright lies and leftist propaganda and that's why we post it here. To expose it. We'll leave it up for posterity.
