Sen. Mary Landrieu threatened the president of the United States with physical violence on Sunday, saying that if he or any other government official criticizes New Orleans police for failing to keep civil order in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - "I might likely have to punch him - literally."
"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."
It is illegal to threaten the president with physical violence.
The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."
"The president came here yesterday for a photo-op," Landrieu charged, while surveying the disaster scene via helicopter with "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos in tow. "He got his photo-op but we are never going to get this fixed if he does not send us help now."
Landrieu also blamed Bush for cutting funding for levee improvement, before bursting into tears on camera.
In recent days, Louisiana officials have been criticized for bungling evacuation and rescue efforts. One of those officials, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, is Sen. Landrieu's brother.
What with the gross incompetence and massive curruption of these Democrats, all that will be needed is for all of the facts to be laid out. BTW, one fact I would like to see is this: Exactly how much state and local (NO) funding has gone into projects like sports arenas, parks, etc. vs how much was spent on levee upgrades, say, over the past fifteen years?
They are cornered rats trapped in the light of truth that is shining brightly on them now. Thus they are lashing out in mindless rage.
PS: They know that the corruption and ineptitude of the Democrats is on full display for all to witness.
I will post it if I get a reply.
Having a job with the NOLA levee boards was considered easy street.
Endorsement Ruckus
By Allen Johnson Jr
Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, state Attorney General Charles Foti, and Orleans Parish District Attorney Eddie Jordan -- and other elected officials -- apparently violated a state law banning elected officials from endorsing Orleans Parish School Board members, local attorney C.B. Forgotston says.
Spokespersons for Landrieu, Foti and Jordan all say the law is unconstitutional and should not be enforced; Forgotston says the law should either be enforced or repealed.
Foti, Jordan and Landrieu all appear in campaign ads endorsing School Board District 5 candidate Phyllis Landrieu in the Sept. 18 primary election. Jordan also has endorsed District 7 incumbent Elliott "Doc" Willard, who directs the district attorney's community outreach program.

We were out of town and just got home to find a message from my conservative brother ranting about the Mary Landrieu interview. He was saying what a liar she is. I'm glad I was on the road and missed ALL Sunday Bash Bushfests.
His best friend lives in New Orleans. I should change that to say lived, past tense. My brothers friend has connections in the La state police who got him back into the city.
His house was burned to the ground, but his family is safe with friends.
The LSP told him that the governor froze and did nothing. At least some of the people down there know the truth.
When I got home,I turned on the tv and the first thing I saw was the ever breathless Rita asking Jesse Jackson if the president should be impeached.
I don't know what we can do as conservatives, but the media needs to be held so accountable for this lie and disgrace they are perpetuating. I've written letters. You can almost see the glee in their evil faces.
There are a lot of us. What can we do beyond a boycott of sponsors?
I'm really surprised the AP posted that.
At least he provided roads, schools and hospitals.
What should they do with the rest of her? ;)
More lawless Demonicrats!!!
A senator who cries, a governor who cries....has the mayor cried?
No wonder New Orleans sank into the sea. It was run by a bunch of emotionally disturbed fruitcakes.
All of this comes down to one thing: New Orleans had a problem for decades and did nothing about it. Nothing. For decades.
When did the president criticise her sherriffs? And didn't he already send the Navy, Army and Marines down there? I see a pretty impressive military action taking control of the situation and getting people fed, clothed and evacuated.
Lord, I was happy to shake the dust of that party off my shoes.
Have you seen this?
Good point.
The Rats will be saying this even after the city of NO is rebuilt. Just like they will be saying the effort in Iraq is a failure after the Iraqis establish a democratic state and the Coalition forces have returned home. And the relief effort after 9-11 is a complete failure. "When will President Bush get the aid to NY they need to recover from 9-11?" Sigh....
Go Mary!!!
