CARRBORO -- Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Code Pink and a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, will be the featured speaker at a fundraising event for the NC Peace & Justice Coalition at the ArtsCenter Sept. 16.
The event, titled, "Send the Youth to DC, Not Iraq," begins at 8 p.m. It's designed to raise money to help send 2000 North Carolinians to an anti-war march in Washington.
The performance lineup of musicians, dancers and poets includes MC Pandemonium, Boxcar Bertha and The Fruit of Labor Singing Ensemble
Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for students, and are on sale mow at www.artscenterlive.org.
Instead, her name is in a list of 1,000 women on a leftist web site womanned by leftist cheese cutters who wish the Nobel Prize committee would further stain its once-august reputation by nominating some of its 1,000 possible womyn nominees, among whom "Susie" Benjamin is but one possibility -- say, if everyone else in the free world had died except herself and the Nobel Committe, and the Committee had never met her.
The list in which her name is buried is of theoretical womyn nominees, as it were, if indeed they were nominees, which they are not, certainly including Ms. Benjamin, who is not, repeat NOT, a Nobel Prize nominee, except in the desperate dreams of communist keyboard potatoes.
NC FReepists, we who have been grappling with the hard-left Code Pinkos in other states urge you to continue FR's proud tradition of postering on Code Pink's parade wherever they head their rears.
Seeing a Code Pinko in action is approximately like seeing The Exorcist; you see some sweet-looking pink-clad female with a frozen grin, but then you see the horrifying, ugly truth, that she is an ally of the Iraqi insurgents who are shooting at our U.S. troops.
NC FReepers! For a good time, get out there and call this Pinko to account for her absence of morality, maturity, judgment, knowledge, taste -- oh, just anything that would qualify her for dogcatcher, much less a peace prize.
For starters, review the Code Pink web site. Next, go to The World Tribunal on Iraq, which has vowed to oppose the Iraqi government now forming and the United States military in Iraq, and to support the Iraqi insurgents. Then, click on the page of endorsers of this malevolent document, and find the signature of Code Pink Women for Peace, the creation of Medea Benjamin.
These data should provide you the background you need to mount a successful and fun-filled FReep.
Code Pink-O in NC alert!
Ping-a-ling!
Exactly!
Thanks for the warning!
they need to knock it off or they're gonna make "pink" leave a bad taste in my mouth.
The Fruit of the Loom Singing Ensemble?
I gag when I see Pepto-Bismol.
Per the great sign of Flora McDonald, see the waistband:
LOL!
I wish I could be there with my "Bomb Hollywood, Not Iraq sign."
Whaddya think, Howlin'? Up here in DC we've been in a 20-week standoff. It looks like Braveheart in front of the Walter Reed army hospital, where they show up every week to pretend they care about the soldiers in order to try to convince them their Commander-in-Chief is illegitimate -- and face a long line of dedicated FReepers across the street. Code Pink would be despicable if they weren't so transparently underinformed. This is the downside of free speech. Even manifestly lazy thinkers get to spout vehement opinions.
ping! interested?
Tora, Tora, Tora
n. Greek Mythology
A princess and sorceress of Colchis who helped Jason obtain the Golden Fleece, lived as his consort, and killed their children as revenge for his infidelity.
Medea? My first thought was, "Doesn't anyone read about these figures from classical drama before using their names" and then I thought, witch, whore, baby-killer, yeah, that about sums it up.
Good. It's my day off. I'll be there a-FReepin'.
Can I get tickets through Ticketmaster?
Juuuuust kidding.
Peace & Justice Coalition
@@@@
The ladies who ally themselves with "peace and justice" coalitions - many Catholic nuns, for example - the upper middle class moms standing vigils with their private school daughters, for another example - think they are supporting a just cause because peace is good and war is bad. They believe that we conservatives are "for" war, and are "against" justice. They do not recognize the code words of every communist movement were peace and justice.
I think posters supporting "liberty" and "democracy" may help to get their attention. I do not have much hope that you can ever change their minds, but I just offer this observation for what it's worth.
