Gary Ackerman: Bush's Leadership 'Totally Inept
NewsMax ^ | September 3. 2005 | Cael Limbacher

Posted on 09/03/2005 8:30:27 PM PDT by Kaslin

Rep. Gary Ackerman blasted President Bush on Saturday for his handling of the New Orleans hurricane disaster, even as most elected Democrats kept political gamesmanship on hold.

"The leadership of the president - and this has nothing to do with [him] being a Republican, it just has to do with, I believe, the whole administration including the president - has been totally inept," Ackerman told WABC Radio.

The New York Democrat predicted that Congress "will have a lot of hearings" on the Katrina disaster.

Ackerman was troubled, he said, by an apparent connection between the administration's slow response and the fact that most New Orleans flood victims were black.

"All of us have this nagging concern that if it were an upscale white neighborhood there would have been a greater sense of urgency," he said.

Bush's fault.

Damn him!

400-500 buses that could have evacuated tens of thousands, just sitting around new orleans...they didn't get used because bush didn't say to use them!

IMPEACHMENT!!!

Keep watching as he chooses another justice for the Supreme court, Gary.

The only way I have been able to understand how the Democrats are politicizing this national tragedy is to understand that they are a party of whores and are beneath contempt.

As if I didn't have enough motivation before, I am finally motivated to officially change parties even though I've been voting Republican for years, and become active in the party to recruit like minded Democrats to the GOP. I will no longer tolerate any association with that despicable group.

A liberal never passes up a chance to play the race card.

I believe there's going to be a significant backlash by 'red
' (middle) America to all this. The facts are going to come out in the weeks and months ahead. It won't be pretty for those doing all the racial screaming.

Now this is one congressman with the "Gravitas" for which we were looking. Now, we need to hear from her royal bigot Ms Maxine Watters. (/sarcasm off)

I will bet my house on the liberals losing the impeachment battle that they are gearing up for with this bush bashing over Katerina.

Everything the touch they destroy or lose.

I ran into a Moonbat at a local convenience store who practically said the same thing, word for word. She was nuts.

The Divert Tactic is in play. It is obvious to all who screwed up but Democrats have always been repelled by facts. Reflect the blame from where it truly belongs to Bush. That is now the mantra to replace Silly Sheehan.

This disaster has maybe finally revealed to the nation that we have not put aside our racial problems.

IN the suburbs, in the mixed neighborhoods, the children play without any sign of racial tension. About the only thing that separates kids these days is language, as the spanish-speaking population grows. But on the playground, on sports teams, at the mall, we are integrated.

But for 40 years now the so-called black leaders have repeated a mantra to the lower-class blacks in cities: You are not to blame, whites have oppressed you, whites hate you, they put obstacles in your way, they want to kill you.

Now we have congresspeople saying it openly -- "Bush reacted slowly because he wanted black people to die".

I'm guessing the Bush family is more racially integrated than the Ackerman household.

But what do we expect blacks to believe, after they have heard this message repeated daily over the last 40 years? They believe they are oppressed. So when the whitey flees town, the blacks get their just rewards, looting and pillaging because they have EARNED THE RIGHT because of the oppression.

And if the blacks don't evacuate (half because they want to loot, half because they are afraid of the looters), and then they suffer the consequences, well it must be Bush's fault, it must be racist -- because for 70 years we have told people that their actions should not have consequences, that whatever mistakes they make, whatever choices the make, whatever lifestyle they live, the government will be there to make sure they don't suffer for it.

My wife doesn't have a racist bone in her body. She noted that almost all the looters were black. I told her that when whites were taking things, we called it "finding", not "looting". She said that's because they are carrying food and water, not racks of dress pants and TV sets.

It would be nice to see the Black Caucus grow up, realise the harm they do to the country, and stop saying that the people of New Orleans are being left for dead because they are black. ANd it would be nice if the other democrats in congress would also stop it.

The Media is clueless. Today a MSM reporter was interviewing a nice black woman, I think in Houston. The woman was complaining about how things had gone, and the MSM reporter was nodding approvingly, no doubt thinking this was going well, as she was getting a good "bush-bash" out of the woman. So she entirely missed the point, as the last thing the woman said before the interview ended was "We're important when it is time to vote, and then they abandon us".

Hard to imagine she was talking about republicans there.

Notice how Ackerman chimed in after the Congressional Black Caucus' floor show.

...And good for you coming over from the Dark Side.

Bring on the hearings, Gary. Then we can ask the Mayor of NO and the Governor why they are so f*cking inept.
