Kanye West's Torrent of Criticism, Live on NBC
NBC's levee broke and Kanye West flooded through with a tear about the federal response in New Orleans during the network's live concert fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Katrina last night....
West: I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family, it says, "They're looting." You see a white family, it says, "They're looking for food." And, you know, it's been five days [waiting for federal help] because most of the people are black. And even for me to complain about it, I would be a hypocrite because I've tried to turn away from the TV because it's too hard to watch. I've even been shopping before even giving a donation, so now I'm calling my business manager right now to see what is the biggest amount I can give, and just to imagine if I was down there, and those are my people down there. So anybody out there that wants to do anything that we can help -- with the way America is set up to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off, as slow as possible. I mean, the Red Cross is doing everything they can. We already realize a lot of people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way -- and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us!
(snip)
West: George Bush doesn't care about black people!

how come kayne west (whomever he is) didn't go into the trenches and vist like our President below???????? Easy to wear ribbons, sing and then bash our President from the comfort of a stage than to actually go down there isn't it?
Bush is not up for re-election, so the libs are just shooting themselves in the feet by spilling their brains out like this.
We never turned it on to begin with. I got an email from my friend in NC and she asked if we were watching it? We said no....
Name me one time since he's been President that George Bush has ever thrown mud at any member of the political elite?
He never does - he just takes the mud thrown at him - and tried to go on.
Perhaps the time will come when George Bush looks into the cameras and tells it like it is.
Perhaps one day this man will take off the gloves and let some people have it.
I'm not holding my breath - he's a religious man and I don't think it's his nature.
But I would applaud him if he did.
Just once Mr. President - put these people in their place.
I believe it's to boost sales of his new album. It was just released, and what better way to get publicity than to bash Bush on network TV.
What would happen if a white entertainer called a bunch of other white people "my people".
Now it's more clear to me why Rapsters meet violence. /sarcasm
yo yo check out what Kanye's peoples be sayin' about this!

Kanye West believes that. Some talking heads on PBS believe that.
I am astonished. And it takes a lot to astonish a cynical person such as myself. I cannot imagine the twisted world in which these people live.
Time to boycott anything or anyone associated with him - sponsors, CD companies, clothing - ANYTHING.
HE IS AN IGNORANT BOOB!
Another Hip Hop Ho'..
Then why doesn't he direct his anger at the MSM, which happens to be a puppet of the Democratic party?
If it weren't for George Bush, these people would not be getting the help they are right now. Their stupid, empty-headed governor would still be sitting there wringing her hands and telling everyone to play nice.
I can't believe the President had to PLEAD with her to help her own people. He could see what was coming - she could only see that people would start being rude to each other. Time to Impeach.
This was a cheap publicity stunt by Kayne West. He is exploiting those who are suffering in New Orleans in an effort to get attention and sell more records, which he will. It was disgraceful.
Well, let's claim for one second he's right - why should Bush "care about black people?" He gets very few of their votes, even after trying to reach out. He shouldn't pay any attention to them.
But, since he's a good man, he still does the right thing and help. He's not mean-spirited.
So, question for CNN - why don't you ask Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson - if all the "refugees" in New Orleans were Jews, would you help them? Because, as we know, you all hate jewish people.
That server seems to be overloaded.
