Had they been in the same place when the remarks were made, Clinton said, "I'm afraid I would have assaulted him." That was Dennis Hastert, you moron -- not Juanita Broaddrick.

Real tough! Walking around with the Secret Service, threatening people. Who does he think he is, Suge Knight?
To: jmc1969
Hastert is a fat-mouth jerk. He needs to be censured and forced to surrender his seat as Speaker.
To: jmc1969
I thought at the time Dennis should not have said that, but I will go on record now saying that Bill Clinton is once again showing his lack of dignity and statesmanship by his equally stupid remark.

If it's any consolation to Hastert, I think it's insane to have a major city in that location.

Don't back peddle Denny, the emperor's city has no clothes. Potholes should be filled in!

** "It looks like a lot of that place could be bulldozed," **
Any why not! Open the dikes, hire some gondoliers and call it the Venice of the south or declare it a protected wetland for wildlife, but don't rebuild it below sea level.

Hastert is such a limp noodle. Yet another case of him appologizing and backing down. In this case, he was correct, if a bit corrosive.

I guess what Hastert said isn't PC, but... c'mon... why re-build a city below sea level?
Or, don't bulldoze it; just use it as landfill to raise it to a higher elevation -- then rebuild the city on top.
To: jmc1969
I was talking to my mother yesterday and she said "What a stupid place for a city." Then I reminded her "Mom, the French did it."

Actually, I think Hastert raises a good point. We should at least consider whether the city should be rebuilt in a different location.

In Syracuse, N.Y., former president Bill Clinton was discussing New Orleans's dilemma when someone described the speaker's comments. Had they been in the same place when the remarks were made, Clinton said, "I'm afraid I would have assaulted him." That's the one thing about this whole disaster I find LOL funny.

Hastert would have danced rings around the bum. With a bad ticker all he would have been able to do is have one of his kneepadders in the press to wheel him down to the local choke & puke for a cheeseburger.
When DUmocrats are in charge of any situation, people die due to their ineptitude to handle any challenge beyond a DUmocrat fundraiser.
