Just when I thought the hatred of many Germans couldn't get any worse, they show us over and over again that "Hate has no boundaries."

The sad thing is there are people in *America* who feel this way.

Sickening - and I doubt most Germans feel this way.

If happiness beats in her heart, I don't want the sympathy its mixed with. She and her socialist paradise can drop dead.

The author needs to be completely ignored because she is crackers.
Another Saddam-lover. How curious and how sad.

Was this an editorial position or a letter to the editor?
If the paper takes this stand publicly they're vermin. If it's just one man's opinion, well, he's vermin.

I don't believe all Germans feel that way. Leaders get to dictate the impression the world has of their entire nation's attitudes. Iran is a good example. 75% of Iran is under 30 years old, most of whom love America.

I would be even happier if I could be sure that only houses of Bush-voters and military families had been hit. I feel sincere regrets for all the others 'Fraid I got some bad news for ya, Suzie Sonshein.

Yes I can even see fair justice in what has happened to that country's citizens because of what they have done to other countries' citizens by means of the war in Iraq.
German translation: schadenfreude.

The lefties over there are angry because Schroeder and the anti-Americans in charge are polling very badly and are going to LOSE the next election. The party who is going to win already has a good relationship with the Bush administration (including the personal invites when they have visited the country - Freepers remember these post?)and will be a bit more pro-America, as much as Europeans ever are, that is.
They are mad because they are going to LOSE. Let them spew their venom and show what they're really all about.

They are truly a hate-filled people to put up with this kind of vile, cruel language in their media. It is not shocking that a philosophy such as Nazism could have been bred among people who have such a competitive, vengeful attitude to other humans.
This writer embodies man's inhumanity to man and heartlessness.

LOL, I've lived there as an Army brat, and my brother lived there much longer (Heileldberg).
I've got almost 1/3 German blood in me, but I still think they're nuts, even if I attribute all my engineering skills to them.
The Irish parts go to the drinking and good humor, the EyeTie parts go to, well, below the waist, LOL!

most of the German I learned in 4 years over there has since gone out the window, but I did pick up the part about how she has an emergency pack always ready and listed the items she carries. How nice.

Disgusting!
This is just a single German a*shole. The world is full of such ill fanatics. Everyone has to deal with this kind of BS.
As a German I will pray and donate for those who are in need. As far as I know all of my friends are deeply touched by this natural disaster and no one is feeling "Schadenfreude". We just want to help as good we can. Believe me that people like this "journalist" or our enviroment secretary Trittin (he wrote a fuc*ing know-it-all article) are sad exceptions.

Do you think it's a mental problem that is afflicting these people.

Just to be complete - the taz is about as leftist as you can get in germany without being outright anarchist!
It does not surprise me in the least to read such drivel from them.

The article is by Philipp Mausshardt, not Lang. This particular article at the top says it's over gossip ("Klatsch"), so it's probably a letter to the editor or guest commentator.
