President to speak at 9am ...
MSM thinking: Mississippi..Alabama...New Orleans...electoral votes...tips the scale....Hillary Clinton....
This CRAP just infuriates me!
If the POLICE have to leave or are trapped and have to suffer being SHOT AT.............HOW IN THE HECK ARE FEMA folks, who are there to help SUPPOSED to do their jobs when they are SHOT AT? Even helicopters....taking in food or trying to pick up stranded, desparate people are BEING SHOT AT!!
It is happening all over the place...even VOLUNTEERS are being shot at, and people trapped are being SHOT at and afraid to leave their places of hiding...afraid to GO OUT and seek the help they desparately need.
That's a ray of sunshine on this day. Look for her to be back with a different name - should be easy to spot. :o)
Couldn't agree with you more. I'm so sick of the blame Pres. Bush game going on around here. I have lost all respect for certain people.
We've got some pet trolls who have been around that long.
Thank you for respecting my opinion.
You just made my point. Because he made an in depth report the other day, he should not have given these short remarks. The RATs will bash our President on what he last said--this is why these poorly prepared remarks should not have been given.
We are in such a state of disaster that the world, the MSM etc. expect a full presidential style report every time he opens his mouth. To do less is fanning the flames of the RATs. Better to avoid these short quips and give full reports to the nation and world--that is more presidential.
Re my tagline, I have had this as my tagline for a long time. My opinion is we need to place the USA as priority #1, not the rest of the world. Again, that is my opinion and I hope you repsect that as such.
We have many interantional readers on FR and to not respect for my opinion does not look well for all our international members and lurkers since this is supposed to be the land of liberty.
The best summary I have heard so far was a caller from NO on Hugh Hewitt's show who said "this is what results from years of gubmint handouts". That goes for the looters in NO AND the empty suits too! now suddenly Bush is to blame for all the Democrat feel-good handout policies? I think not! Totally agree with you PD.
And that is exactly what Giuliani did. They had a plan and they had frequent, routine drills. It went a long way in maintining a sense of calm in the midst of utter destruction and chaos.
Please respect the President of the United States of America, who has had to bear enormous burdens since almost the first day of his presidency, and has done so with strength and compassion, when others would have crumbled.
Please try to understand that when you criticize him mercilessly at every opportunity as you do, you don't hurt him, as is your desire (he does what is right, regardless of mindless attacks from left OR right).......you hurt your credibility here, and make lurkers who are our political enemies laugh in agreement.
And please understand that the President was making brief comments on his way to do something horrendous and heart rendingly difficult, knowing that he is going to be attacked by every jerk on the planet no matter what he does.
Please stop being one of those jerks.
I don't know what to believe myself anymore.
Bill O'Reilly had someone from the administration on last night who said that only Congress could declare martial law.
Yet I heard Chertoff say that the Governor had to declare martial law.
I've heard so many conflicting things that I don't know who to believe anymore.
And why didn't FEMA airdrop water and food to victims? Why didn't they airdrop insulin on the hospitals that need it?
This is really an out of control situation and I don't see anyone emerging yet to take charge and coordinate relief efforts.
I thought I was the only one thinking that. Well said!
That's part of his job. He was stellar after 9/11. Sure-footed, inspirational, confident.
Now, he's hiding behind lineups of bureaucrats, with lists of billions and billions of gallons of water and tons and tons of supplies.
The problem is, nobody sees the water and supplies and five days without water is a sentence of death for a lot of people.
The problem is likely that all forward staging areas were also destroyed.
Most people can survive a few days without creature comforts. Some can't. Each caregiving center is supposed to have a plan, and they probably did, but made wrong assumptions.
The federal government cannot be expected to know that some hospital on 7th street in new orleans has a generator in the basement that will flood if there is any levy break.
Until this happened, I presumed that the N.O. pumps were all either above sea level, or protected by waterproof walls. And that generators would be on the roof, and the water system would be protected.
Apparently not.
Gee, do you suppose the U.S. Constitution has anything to say about that?
In some cases, nothing can be done. I am sure Rudy went with the best intentions, but the police in Mexico don't want reform.
DOW Jones up a modest 8 points........
