Just seems ridiculous to blame the President for the failure of the state and local government to prepare and act on a natural disaster. Bush is having to come in and clean up after the dems drop the ball again.
Had Bush done or said half of what he is doing now for Jeb and Florida, the dems would be raising Holy H*ll!
Sean couldn't cut him off soon enough.
Evidently there's a no blaming anyone policy on H&C for now.

THE PRESIDENT: Secretary Chertoff and I just finished a meeting with Secretary Rumsfeld, General Myers, other members of my Cabinet, as well as General Honore, Admiral Keating, who is in charge of NORTHCOM -- General Honore who is our active duty general on the ground in Louisiana, as well -- and Mike Brown, who is the head of FEMA.
There's a lot of aid surging toward those who have been affected: millions of gallons of water, millions of tons of food. We're making progress about pulling people out of the Superdome. There's an issue right now at the convention center of New Orleans that General Honore briefed us on. We're trying to get food and medicine to the convention center. He's working with the governor, and the adjutant general, and the mayor, to deploy 600 of the newly arrived MPs to secure the site, so that the food and medicine and water can get in there.
A lot of people are working hard to help those who have been affected, and I want to thank the people for their efforts. The results are not acceptable. I'm headed down there right now. I'm looking forward to talking to the people on the ground. I want to assure the people of the affected areas and this country that we'll deploy the assets necessary to get the situation under control, to get the help to the people who have been affected, and that we're beginning long-term planning to help those who have been displaced, as well as long-term planning to help rebuild the communities that have been affected.
I'm looking forward to my trip down there, and looking forward to thanking those on the ground, and looking forward to assure people that we'll get on top of this situation and we're going to help people that need help.

Yes its 90,000 square miles of disaster but there is about 2 square miles with about 100,000 people. Freaking start there and work your way out. When I saw the babies dying last night that really hit home. There is no freaking reason this should be happening. The president needs to do something MAJOR. These little sh*t speeches are doing nothing to comfort me.

So Mike Brown should be fired because he doesn't sound like General Patton in his 2000th interview when he is asked the same damn questions he was asked in the other 1,999? How would you do in that situation? Should he have spent tax dollars on a PR consultant so he would sound better on TV?

You are absolutely correct. Actions speak louder than words. It is one more enigma to place beside the one occurring on our borders. There is a plan, but we have no clue. The philosophy is that peons don't need to know. You get what you elect. When you have a choice between a prince from a financial syndicate and a traitorous piece of trash from another financial syndicate, then there should not be high expectations from the peons.
It's against the law.
Of course, the fact that the actual sections of the levy system that gave way were not under consideration for repair under those original budgets will go without discussion or consideration. The sections that broke were not considered to be the sections that had a problem.
