Thanks for stopping by-- here is a little more:

Bottled-Up River Prevents Ships From Reaching Gulf (rail, truck, barge - diverting to new ports)

NIGHTMARE OF ROBBERY, FILTH, DEATH & RAPE IN SUPERDOME

Listen to Mayor Nagin of N.O. go *nuts* in New Orleans radio interview -- Sounds like the corruption of the government in the city is coming home to roost...  Nagin.mp3 ... He sounds like a complete idiot, all talking points with no solutions.

Trying to survive, while others binge (police agencies in tatters)

Hunger and rage (American city becomes a Third World nightmare) ... Little Somalia ... I watched some of the news yesterday for the first time as what stuck me was the HUGE difference in how the leadership and people of New York reponded to 911, and how the leadership and people of New Orleans responded to Katrina. New Yorkers were tough, determined, resolved, didn't loot, helped others, didn't complain, whine, sit around like helpless babies, expecting 'gubmint' to do everything...

I know what you mean-- my truck, and Mrs. B's little buzz bomb needed gas yesterday, and I thought I was going to have to go down to the bank and take out a loan to pay for it. At least I was able to get gas-- the day before that stupid "gas panic" hit Georgia, and there were lines, standing room only, and angry drivers everywhere.

A sign in Atlanta:

Did you check out the first two links in your post? The Federal Register refered to is -

[Federal Register: June 23, 1998 (Volume 63, Number 120)]
[Notices]
[Page 34151-34153]
From the Federal Register Online via GPO Access [wais.access.gpo.gov]
[DOCID:fr23jn98-32]

"Intent To Prepare a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the West Shore--Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana, Hurricane Protection Feasibility Study"

How does this as a "matter of fact" reflect on Clinton?

 Hurricane Katrina: Who's to Blame?

National Hurricane Center predicted New Orleans in trouble Friday before storm. Where was the Mayor? -- People get the government they deserve. Citizens of NO - this is what happens when you vote gangsters into office.

A national disgrace -- "At all levels, government is overbearing and nagging, paying for people's prescription drugs and telling us whether we can smoke in restaurants or not. But when it comes to its most elemental task of maintaining order and protecting property, it might not be up to the task when it is needed most.""Keep that in mind and buy a gun, just in case."

 The Doomed Cities

 The State and the Flood

If You Ain't Been to Heaven Then You Ain't Been There

Mess on the Mississippi -- the surrounding nub of land around the last 20 miles of the rivers, known colloquially as the "crow's foot," was decimated by the storm.

An Unnatural Disaster: A Hurricane Exposes the Man-Made Disaster of the Welfare State -- "There were many decent, innocent people trapped in New Orleans when the deluge hit--but they were trapped alongside large numbers of people from two groups: criminals--and wards of the welfare state, people selected, over decades, for their lack of initiative and self-induced helplessness. The welfare wards were a mass of sheep--on whom the incompetent administration of New Orleans unleashed a pack of wolves."

A Colossal Failure of Leadership (Leftist hate alert) -- President Bush has stepped into the breach after the failure of the democRAT mayor of N.O. and the democRAT governor of LA.

New Orleans refugees bitter after Katrina ordeal -- "This is a prime example of what happens when a country has generation after generation after generation of people on welfare. Its not "how can I help myself or my family" its "what is the government going to give me and when will I get it?" mentality."

Experts: Global Warming Didn't Cause Katrina

(using buses) Galveston creates evacuation plan --- WHY DIDN'T NEW ORLEANS OFFICIALS DO THIS?

IVAN EXPOSED THE EVACUATION FLAWS....BUT THEY APPARENTLY DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM

Mayor Nagin - Drug Addicts Have Taken Over New Orleans -- He and the dim bulb governor will be forever known as the two boobs that destroyed New Orleans, and ten's of thousands of lives along with it. -- Mayor Nagin Curses Gov. Blanco, Pres. Bush -- When you give fools the right to vote --- they elect idiots.

Cause of the Disaster: The People of New Orleans

Note the real title for the article: Bush budget not expected to diminish New Orleans district's $65M -- FLASHBACK: Bush refused to fund New Orleans flood and hurricane protection last February

10 ways you can help disaster victims

Katrina Refugee: I could never have imagined this!

FEMA’s Plan for Mass Destruction Attacks: Of Course It’s True

WHY DIDN'T YOU DEPLOY THE BUSES, MAYOR?... New Orleans Lost Opportunity

WHY DIDN'T YOU DEPLOY THE BUSES, MAYOR?...

Air America caller from N.O. blasts N.O. mayor and Governor (Caller was Julia Reed) -- "Desperate people" replied Maddow -- No, "lawbreakers," said Reed.  Reed referred to Nagin's "send greyhound buses" speech as "ridiculous political posturing... hardly what I'd call leadership'
She says that Nagin has lost control of the city, and Blanco has lost control of the state

Thanks for looking- here's a little more:

1 YEAR AGO "Ivan exposes flaws in N.O.'s disaster plans" Mayor & Gov. fail to learn lesson

 Katrina Live Thread, Part XIV

"It took four days for FEMA to get its first people into South Florida after Andrew"

They saw it coming(no blame but its Bushs fault)

Katrina Takes Aim -- I had forgotten that a state of emergency was called BEFORE THE STORM EVEN HIT
It was Bush that asked the Gov and Mayor to order a mandatory evacuation, NOT their idea at all.

"The Begining of Our Nightmare" -- Personal Account from New Orleans **It's worse than you think!** -- The email-writer easily saw what MSM seems to be missing--the mayor, governor, and Sen. Landrieu need to go, and quickly. I wasn't aware they were standing in the way of aid, but if true, it wouldn't surprise me.

Mark Steyn on Hugh Hewitt Re: Hurricane Katrina -- Robert Kaplan, when he talks about what's happened in failed West African states, calls it the re-primitivation of man. And that's actually what we're seeing in New Orleans.  It's the best commercial for owning a gun I've ever seen.

Republicans Ask Guiliani to guide Relief effort -- Finally. I can't take many more appearances by Ms. Governor or Mayor Hate-Whitey or Senator Ima Bitch-Landrieu.
These clowns need to be sent packing and someone who is effective needs to take charge

Canoe and a gun get duo to safety (escape from NO) -- Earlier today, a man came up to me. I think he wanted the canoe. He saw I was armed and gave up.
Second Amendment. Learn it, live it, love it.

Project 21 Responds to Black Caucus Criticism of Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

This all falls on the Governor, Not the Mayor or The President

It's finally hit.."Why didn't you deploy the buses, Mr. Mayor??"
