TAMPA BAY, August 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Ten year-old Joshua Heldreth, the eldest of eight children, was arrested on Good Friday of this year for trespassing while attempting to bring a drink of water to Miss Terri Schaivo. Days later Schiavo died of intentional dehydration. In court Joshua pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology for his actions.
The boy whose arrest photo was splashed on front pages of newspapers across the nation wrote in his apology letter, "I was arrested on Good Friday for trespassing on the hospice center's property . . . Not giving Mrs. Shiavo (sic) food or water was wrong. The reason I had to go on your property was because Jesus would do the same thing. It made me sad that she was so thirsty and it made Jesus sad too. I knew she would die without water and I am called by Jesus to be a defender of the defenceless. So I had to go on your property to try to bring her a drink."
Joshua added, "I am sorry that you didn't like that and wouldn't allow me to help save her life and one day you will have to tell God why. I won't be able to help you then like I tried to help her. I will pray for you every day . . ."
LifeSiteNews.com caught up with Joshua's father Scott Heldreth today. Scott told LifeSiteNews.com he is very proud of his son. "My son has amazed me through this whole thing," said Heldreth. The proud father said it was his son's own initiative to attempt to give the starving woman a glass of water, and despite the warning of his parents that he'd be arrested, the boy insisted. "He was the one who begged us to go down, because he wanted to give her a glass of water . . . We explained that police will never let you help . . . you'll be arrested, but he went anyways."
Pro-life leader Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America told LifeSiteNews.com that the whole pro-life movement shares Heldreth's pride in his son. Benham recalls the reaction of Heldreth on Good Friday as he watched his son being arrested: "When that all took place Scott was weeping, this father was weeping tears of joy seeing his son not only talk the Christian talk but walk the walk."
While the apology letter has been submitted, Heldreth told LifeSiteNews.com he's not completely sure it will be accepted.

Hostile
It is not a matter of "feelings". I like cops and am a supporter of cops and a darned dedicated patriot. I also do not let "feelings" blind me to truth. I said the truth. They, (not all) actually wore jackboots. It was an ugly scene, no "feelings" to sugarcoat it. They were there to protect the killing of Terri. Three of them guarded at her bedside so she could die the way she was supposed to.
If you are disgusted at us when we witnessed what we did, time for a reassessment of values.
I am an American and a supporter of the Constitution and the Second Amendment. I hope you are too.

They are known as the most bumbling PD in the U.S.
You won't find a better site than this for respecting police in their rightful duties. But look again at the photo at the beginning of this thread -- large armed men handcuffing a ten-year-old boy who was doing no harm and posed no threat to anyone. That's fascist.
You're right, I do not respect these cops and never will respect cops who act with no conscience. Cops like these disgrace the good name of all good law enforcement officers.
"The kid was treated harshly but the cheating judge has yet to be investigated for his illegal and barbarous acts against humanity"
Az I said before, there's absolutely no way I can read this whole thread but can you point me to the stories or evidence of the judge's cheating? Illegal acts?
"and for ordering swat teams to have their ak-47s pointed at people at the Vigil who were praying."
The judge issued an order for the troops to point their AK-47s sepcifically at praying people (I suspect troops can point guns at anybody if they want)?
"If you can take the time, please do read the whole thread. Some of us were there as eyewitness and saw the huge thug cops cuff and haul away the kid who had stepped in a few feet into the driveway."
I wish I had the time but I simply can't read 700 posts right now.
If the kid was trespassing then it doesn't matter whether he took a few steps or 300 steps. He wouldn't have stopped if he hadn't been arrested. I also assume he knew he would be arrested. If he didn't, shame on his parents for not informing him.
It is difficult for you to make judgments unless you have the background. The background is there. That is what we are saying.
We all knew in that charged atmosphere that one little step into the heavily guarded phalanx would bring arrest. No question of Joshua not knowing or fearing the consequences. One who later became a good friend of mine was the first. Bo Gritz did the same later. I had no intention of doing it, myself but admired those who did.
The understanding of us all at the time was if you crossed that line, you would be subject to a fine. It was heavy. Pay it and be released and done with. I think we all knew it would be on a record. I do not know if they expected a Kangaroo Court months later when the focus of the media moved elsewhere.
This happened on Good Friday, the anniversary for us Christians of the horrible crucifiction of Our Lord and almost in mockery Terri lay helpless yards away being killed in the most painful way I can conjure.
Terri hadn't had a drink of water or even a drop since the killing process began. God bless Joshua for his courage.
Greer's a republican and that is the most sickening fact of all.
Anti-lifers want to dehumanize the disabled, just as they do with pre-born babies.
"One of the many things I cannot forget about this case is how cruelly Terri's parents were treated and the many vicious mind games Michael Schiavo played with them, such as wanting to hide Terri's burial place.
What is the latest on Michael Schiavo's lawsuit?"
The cruelty towards Terri parents was to further justify this horrendous murder. Anti-life people did not want them to appear credible.
I haven't heard anything lately re: Michael's lawsuit.
The lay of the land around Hospice Woodside can only be imagined if you haven't seen it. One person on the sidewalk was pulled into an arrest and she was just standing there. The PPPD grabbed people who were just standing there minding their own business, not even approaching the cops little tent so they wouldn't get hot or dehydrated while checking Terri's parents and blood relatives' IDs before they could go see the suffering Terri. I saw the PD TURN AWAY Terri's blood relatives because Michael Schiavo was inside and he decided when and if Terri's blood relatives could even see her. One of the police told Terri's sister "This isn't a game maam." Kind of totally inappropriate since they were helping Judge Greer, psuedo-religions, left wingers, death lawyers kill her. No shame. "This isn't a game maam" he says as he makes her blood family show him their IDs & makes them go back to the other side of the street where they were in misery that nobody would save Terri and she could not have an ice chip even though terminally ill patients get ice chips. There are pictures of the Schindlers having to show their ID's to go see the suffering Terri.
The cop at the bedside made sure the family stayed away from Terri, I believe it was at least a foot separation. They were searched and id'd. IT WAS UN-AMERICAN and ghastly.
The jack booted thug was right. It wasn't a game. It was a well orchestrated, pre-meditated murder of an innocent woman.
VILE.
630 Downright evil, wouldn't you say?
We want them to stop killing future Terri's. A wife is trying to kill her husband up in Jacksonville. Florida is the starvation state and we are trying to stop this inhumanity to man from spreading to other states. Scott Thomas even said that his wife hit him. She said he fell over their dog. He can communicate and they are trying to starve him. Slippery slope? Mission accomplished. I'm not resting until some of these judges get their perp walk.
What monsters who would not to allow a loving mother to hold her child. Only sadistic people permitted this treatment of Terri and her parents.
What law did the child break? If you were to see a person in a burning building and rushed in to save that person over the owner's objection would you have broken a law? What do you think the purpose of law is in the first place? Which is lawful in this case; to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?
Cordially,
Terri's last hours are on my profile page. Written by Father Frank Pavone, one of my heroes from priests4life.
Those who violated "Thou Shalt Not Kill" will not be rejoining the Lord. They will be going in an opposite direction.
One of the posters here commented, "No mercy too small for Michael to deny."
Does believing that she could not swallow allow you to pamper your guilt?
Her monster of a husband WOULD NOT ALLOW her to have any swallowing tests once he decided she had to die.
Note little jedweber...TERRI WAS NOT ON A SALIVA ASPIRATOR.......OH YEAH.........SHE SUCCESSFULLY SWALLOWED TWO QUARTS of SALIVA EACH AND EVERY DAY.
Just like you and I do.
A member of my family was declared brain dead not long ago. I will tell you what happens about five minutes later. What happens is, a surgical team cuts up the patient to harvest as many organs as it can. Those organs are worth a small fortune to the hospital. This family member did NOT give permission for organ donation, nor did her immediate family, but the hospital ignored that and cut her to pieces anyway.
In fact, that is why "brain death" became the definition of death, in the late 1960s -- for organ transplantation. That way you could grab the organs before they spoiled from natural death processes. If the patient still had a beating heart -- as my relative did -- well, tough luck, somebody else needs the organs, and the hospital needs the money.
What's wrong with this picture? The financial incentive to cannibalize live patients for their body parts. The "death" diagnosis can mean six-figure profits, but doing the right thing -- fighting for the patient's life -- can mean huge dollar losses. Needless to say, the "brain death" standard has spread its tentacles throughout the medical profession. God only knows how many times it has led to killing the patient for money.
Needless to say, if Terri Schiavo had really been brain dead, she too would have been chopped up fifteen years ago for her organs.
"I'm looking forward to Cheryl Ford's book"
Me too!
