And the original founder from France was told by his engineers it would be a very bad place for a settlement because of flooding.

It's always good to be prepared for disasters

The Koreans in LA during the rodney king riots had the correct preparation. I personally bought a locking gas cap yesterday and may buy a firearm tommorrow.

On Monday, Larry King managed to dig up someone who stayed in NO, who said the weather forecasters told him all week long that they were "100% positive" the storm wouldn't hit NO.

The dumb*ss must have been listening to the wrong forecaster............. like mine in my home town.

It has given me pause about what I should prepare for if a disaster event would take place in or close to an urban area.
My "pause" turned into moving out of L.A.

In the opening of my video "Boomerang" I called Angelenos "inmates". People thought it was funny, but I was just barely kidding. When/if the ---- hits the fan there, ain't nobody goin' nowhere.

really easy. Bring in some Pave Lows with the MiniGuns.

after a MG sends 3000 rounds at them in a one minute burst, I don't think they will fire anymore.

Since the media insists on calling the hurricane victims refugees lets start calling the looters "insurgents". Both words - at least in the past - have been used in the context of war.

Main Entry: 2loot
transitive senses
1 a : to plunder or sack in war b : to rob especially on a large scale and usually by violence or corruption
2 : to seize and carry away by force especially in war
intransitive senses : to engage in robbing or plundering especially in war
- loot·er noun

YOu got it spot on. This is insane. Laura Ingraham is talking about this. Apparently some people are returning to their homes only to find themselves trapped by the house falling on them.

"really easy. Bring in some Pave Lows with the MiniGuns. "

That makes sense. Sure. Let's see, someone shoots at a 'copter from a crowd of people. So, you blow away the whole crowd.

What the heck?

I'm sitting here wondering where the FReepers are that were OK with looting food and water. Where are the "I'd steal the food to make sure that my children eat" folks?

You and me both! They stole guns and some Freeper asked if I wouldn't do the same to protect my family. Give me a break!

I am as caring as the next person but I am just not sure I want some of these people in my state of Texas.

My thoughts exactly. I welcome displaced, hardworking citizens (I may even have employment to offer the right people) but the prospect of importing thugs here concerns me.

Gee, I'm glad YOUR city is so pure. Nevertheless, whether you realize it or not, the element is there, waiting for "opportunity" to knock. You may have fewer of them, but they're there. Take off your rose colored glasses.

And they would be walking to where .... 2 days and 60 - 70 miles down the road, no food or water ...you're absolutely brilliant doc, don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

As brilliant as sitting in one place in the same terrible heat without food or water for God knows how long. I'd be moving, at least well away from the toxic flood waters as possible, not sitting there waiting for help that turned back because someone decided to shoot at the help!

I've just been receiving and reading a number of prophetic words regarding New Orleans. Some just came in July where this flooding was prophesied and the man said that bodies would be floating in the water. BUT, I believe that a greater, cleaner NO will emerge. God still is in control. There is way too much witchcraft and evil in NO now and I believe much of it will disappear. We need to pray for all the people who are homeless and literally starving right now, especially the newborns and infants and elderly.

"And they would be walking to where .... 2 days and 60 - 70 miles down the road, no food or water ...you're absolutely brilliant doc, don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise."

Well, from what I can tell, there is no food or drinkable water in New Orleans either. The difference being if you are 60-70 miles further north, (1) you aren't under threat of drowning or (2) being shot and (3) authorities aren't having to expend resources rescuing your butt.

It's understandable that folks decide to stick out a hurricane, they've been there, done that. But to impliedly suggest folks living in a place like New Orleans should only leave if its convenient and funded by the government is sad. I don't think sarcastic attacks of freepers are helping anyone.
