Hostage Situation in New Orleans
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a heads up, armed looters have taken over one of the medical centers in New Orleans where the injured people were being sent. They are holding the entire staff of the hospital hostage and firing at the national guard. An FBI SWAT team has just been flown in (from Baton Rouge I believe) and they are just now getting situated. I'm not sure of any online scanners that are up monitoring the state trs. That is where alot of traffic is going on at.
LSP Troop B is requesting immediate backup. Troopers, riot squad, and national guard. He said the crowd is triple the size it was earlier and they are about to be overrun.
The location is 610 and eleshafield(spelling?).
Should I make another thread that has events going on down there? Lots of stuff has gone on and half of it never makes it on the news or anything.
No, unfortunately these cretins are NATIVE BORN.
GARDEN DISTRICT: A New Orleans police officer is seen carrying DVDs at the Wal-Mart on Tchoupitoulas Tuesday. Many police officers said they felt helpless in enforcing the looters, which were found all over the city.
No wonder the Feds are bringing in their own law enforcement
Are you aware of conditions down there? Apparently not.
In Texas it's legal to shoot someone to defend yourself OR your property. Bring 'em on. The honest ones will get the help they need. The gangsters will get what they have coming.
What are the laws for concealed carry in LA?
Could it be possible this guy was simply carrying them away or back so the looters don't take them?
Yeah. It is sad and amazing to me that a city in America can devolve into this kind of mess in less than 24 hours without the thin blue line in place.
More bad news. The wife just called & said the gas station guy told her rationing begins here at 4pm today. I have no idea what that means. 10 gallons a person or what? I guess I'll find out soon enough.
And once those drugs are gone it's on to the next, and then the next, and then the next one.... Visions of the Paris mob storming the Bastille leaps to mind.
In many of these photos, and videos, though, what is being stolen does not appear to be absolute necessities. Just look at the smiles and laughter on the faces of some of these people, and also the constant scoping left then right then left for the "86" (out of guilt) which shows they damn well know 'right vs. wrong' and that they are willfully commmiting 'wrong'.
Any person of honor would, after taking necessities, make an ammend afterward to the owner of that store.
With armed gangs going after drugs however, taking hostages or taking luxuries, I'd say, terminate on the spot as a message to others.
or lead
Where's the rationing happening?
the smartest looter at the walmart was the guy who had shotguns and shells, along with food/drink supplies in his cart.....I say that man has at least some sense of what's about to go down
They did it in St. Croix after Hugo in 1989, I think it was. But of course, most of the 82d is over there...
What state do you live in?
What's really disgusting is the number of submerged cars and trucks in all the pictures, often in the neighborhoods where there's looting and where people are begging to be rescued. Most of those vehicles are on the roads or in parking lots, indicating they were all operable before the flood. Hence, the looters and many of the currently stranded people got where they are because they refused to take the ample warnings that were given and failed to use the then-available transportation, nearly all of which has now been ruined.
More indications of significant worsening. The criminals are becoming more and more embolden and need to be put down harshly ASAP.

It's been incredible the freepers who have been trying to justify looting. "They're trying to feed their families." "They were too poor, they had no car to get out of town."
When the looting started at Walmart there was a traffic jam around the store! Once they heard it had started you couldn't get near the place because of all the cars.
Yes many here on FReerepublic have been defending looters.
Where is "here"--what gas station?
