Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi [hundreds if not thousands dead]
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 08/30/2005 10:10:45 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

It is with heavy heart I write this...

I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.

He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.

Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.

They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.

The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.

The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

More to follow....

The bodies are being picked up and transferred boat to boat to be brought back to shore.

Everywhere I've seen in Mississippi there's no water whatsoever...what "shore" are they being brought back to?

The Fox Radio reporter wasn't kidding when he described Biloxi as "destroyed."

Good Lord.

Staying behind because you survived Camille is stupid, this wasn't Camille.

I certainly wouldn't have stayed. But if I was an old-timer that had survived Camille and my home was located near the house of Jefferson Davis in Biloxi and that house had survived since Civil War times, I can understand why some might have stayed.

Of course, that fabulous home/museum is now a pile of rubble somewhere inland, and it's easy to see mistakes in hindsight.

I have no idea what the death toll in Mississippi is. If you forced me to guess, I'd say well more than 1,000.

This was no Camille.

Thank you MFH, it will all come out soon enough. Tell your friend to not let it get to him.

Thanks for the pics. I think there used to be a hotel over that swimming pool. Sad.

If he's appalled by what he thinks is an irresponsible thread then why would he exacerbate the problem by providing a link to it for his readers?

Spite, maybe.

What hotel do you think it is? I am trying to find some before pictures to compare them to to get a better idea what we are looking at.

I like Hewitt.

I also trust MFH.

He is a journalist himself and has proven to be reliable.

There may be over 1000 dead. There may be as few as 300.

But, it sounds like they are doing body count in an orderly enough fashion that they will not be double-counting to a big degree.

Now, in NO, they have been told not to worry about the bodies at this point. They are only to be evacuating people.

We will not have any sort of reliable estimates for dead in NO for at least a week probably.

Google Earth uses a preloaded database. You cannot see up-to-date stuff until it is loaded.

Thanks, RA! I'll be working around in it today and will take that into consideration. It is fun to put in addresses and move around the map.

(Yeah, I am that simple-minded today...think I'm on storm overload - having a hard time just getting "my brain wrapped around" the devastation.)

Thanks for the report. There will be no cover up, as there was none with Andrew...

Oh I know, I just am SO curious as to where the "live shots" or at least taped shots are...
A media FIXATED with gore/destruction/death... one would think we would have had these during the hurricane if it were possible....
I honestly wonder if they are being told not to show some stuff or something like that...

Ranting at Quix won't change the facts.

You're quite right.

No matter how much you're ranted at, you're still an apocalypse-fantasizing loon.

The gulf shore. I am assuming the waters pulled the bodies out to sea and now the sea is returning the lost back home.

Thanks for proving the point that posting while being fact and logic challenged is welcome here. Perhaps you could be moved to point out where I "defended" Hewitt. Why would he need a "defense"?

Your rantings are Exhibit A for why this site will not achieve its potential.

Your giggles and hysterics and then calling a cool assessment drama are a sight to behold, so untethered from reality are they.

Now wail some more and stamp your tiny feet. I'm sure so many will be impressed.

Not
