RFK Jr.: Bush, Barbour to Blame for Katrina

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is blaming Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, along with President Bush, for causing Hurricane Katrina.

"As Hurricane Katrina dismantles Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, it’s worth recalling the central role that Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour played in derailing the Kyoto Protocol and kiboshing President Bush’s iron-clad campaign promise to regulate CO2," Kennedy blogged Tuesday on HuffingtonPost.com.

The influential Democrat's enviro-conspiracy theory had the sinister Gov. Barbour engineering Bush's energy policy on behalf of "the president’s major donors from the fossil fuel industry." Kennedy charges that in March 2001, the former Republican National Committee chairman issued "an urgent memo to the White House" on CO2 emissions.

With that, the president dropped his pro-environment campaign promise like a hot potato.

Because of Bush and Barbour's CO2 folly, said Kennedy: "Now we are all learning what it’s like to reap the whirlwind of fossil fuel dependence which Barbour and his cronies have encouraged."

RFK, Jr. even suggested that Katrina's last minute detour through Mississippi was a bit of Divine payback, declaring:

"Perhaps it was Barbour’s memo that caused Katrina, at the last moment, to spare New Orleans and save its worst flailings for the Mississippi coast."

So how do they explain category 3-5 hurricanes that struck the US in the years before fossil fuel was in wide spread usage? Well if Bush and Barbour caused this, no problem they can just use their mojo to get the waters to recede.

Agree... Anyone who would infer that signing a treaty that is unenforceable would have prevented this natural event should be required to produce scientific evidence to back up such claims... The press will never do such a thing to one of their favorite sons so we are left to refute this hyperbole...

This is the one who sued to keep the solar windmills out of view from across the bay from his Martha's Vineyard compound. I think I heard him say he did it on behalf of the whole local yachting community who shouldn't, after all, have to be subjected to the sight of ugly windmills.

Sounds OK to me.

Now if only he'd sue to stop immigration, which cause of population growth is the reason we're running short of energy.

"Who is this loon - the guy on the grassy knoll?"

He's the nut job who is leading the opposition against the construction of a wind farm off of Cape Cod because the windmills will disrupt the view from the energy sucking estate in Hyannis, also known as the "Kennedy Compound."

Ummm, Bush said he clearly OPPOSED Kyoto in debates against Gore. Besides, every computer model shows, Kyoto will have zero effect on global warming. What a friggin moron.

Just saw some weather person on the Weather Channel last night saying that MA is due for a massive storm. Wouldn't that just be too bad. This little privileged creep doesn't have the sense to keep his yap shut, does he.

Why in the world anyone would care what this former druggie has to say is beyond me. The fact that his last name is Kennedy is not enough for me. I just get more and more disgusted by these leftest every day. Common sense, and love of country are foreign to them. Just find a way, any way to disparage any republican. That is all they are about. They should be ignored and treated as the self-serving ignoramuses that they are.

Yes, I have really had it with this blame, blame, blame crowd.

Didn't Falwell or Robertson take a lot of flack from the media when one of them suggested that God had lifted His hand of protection over the nation on 9-11 because of its cultural degradation?

I wonder if the media will pounce on this radical nutcase for saying basically the same thing?

And yes, I mean that as a rhetorical question.

It’s nice of Kennedy to so thoroughly squash any lame hopes he may have been harboring for a political career. The relatives of the dead in Mississippi will be so happy to hear Kennedy’s glee that the storm took a Frankenstein-like turn towards their state to try and hunt down its creator, Haley Barbour.

He fits right in with the whacko far-center extremists of his party. Here's one of the giants-of-science over on DU:

Original message:
Don't respond w/o your TINFOIL on - "Katrina" = "another 911 for bush" ?

I think this disaster is tooo coincidental.

Everything going on was "negative for bush and for POWER" :

* Iraq is a nightmare -- the draft constitution rejected by Sunni's with potential "civil war" as a result.

* The US economy in the shitter (BS job numbers and inflation rising)

* The Housing bubble aboutr to burst with consumers extended on home equity loans -- last few months retail shopping slowing

* Oil continued to increase and people having to spend less on consumables.

* The US "economic - housing - oil induced - poor planning by govt BUBBLE" was coming home to roost.

* NOT to mention the Plame investigation and Rove "fingerprints"

What do we get :

-------------------

A "perfectly targeted devistating hurricane" at a city "below sea level which controls 25% of US energy production"

For those of you that don't know -- our Military has been working with "controlling the weather" for sometime. How HAARP works and it creates "depression's and steering" don't ask me. I know hurricanes require warm Gulf waters (August/Sept you have that).

And now:

---------

7x24 news on the hurricane -- forgetting all of the above.

I don't trust TPTB and I think more is coming that all "our woes" will now be blamed on Katrina"

IF there were anyway to find out increased "weather making activity" that steered this towards New Orleans and others I would love to know.

TPTB would do "anything" do advance thier agenda -- and the CNN "situation room" was created "just in time" -- what a "co-inkydink"

I thought the Kennedy men were all dead, drunk, or in prison. Who is this loon - the guy on the grassy knoll?

RFK Jr. is a certified environmental loony -- much loonier than your typical wacko.

This is the most moronic and sh*&t-for-brains comment I've heard in along time. To imply that a hurricane could have been prevented, you, "BUBBY" are a "Meat-Head". Maybe we can find a way to prevent earthquakes! Or make them politically correct. Give me a break! Just in case you haven't noticed, hurricanes have been ravaging this planet for thousands of years and the warm - cold cycle in the Atlantic has been going on just as long. Yeah, that’s right Bob, before YOU were born, if you can imagine that. To think that we've managed to change our weather this significantly in just the past 100 years is rather arrogant, simple-minded and stupid. To blame a mayor or president (in this time of disaster) just because you don't like their politics is not helpful. What would be helpful is for you to get your "elite" a$$ down to the Gulf Coast and help with the relief effort...you hypocrite. By the way, you’ll have to walk there. Because if you want to help stop global warming (if that's what you think is causing these hurricanes) then you will have to sell your car, clothes, don't use any electricity or gas, and don't fly. Because those jets really put out tons of pollutants into the atmosphere.

Ah, nope. The ice up there is fresh water. It's also floating already so any chunk that calves off is still part of the over-all weight. In the beginning there was a finite amount of water that separated out into liquid, vapor and solid.

Just because there's a website that states something, it isn't always true. The thing that caught my eye right away was the "global warming" statement ..... seems like an agenda right there ....
