In NO? They might as well loot and survive - everything will be lost anyway. People have to find some way to live in the meantime.
To: Born in a Rage; All
Widespread chaos has already broken out, and they are not even hungry yet! For those of you that have never been to the not so nice parts of NO, watch hotel rawanda for a preview of what is to come. The water is rising, there is no way to get all those people out of there

I own that movie...what happened in Rwanda was unspeakable. I'm wondering the same thing, how they will get the people out of the area before they go nuts and get diseases? I said before this hurricane hit that they should have done more to get those people out of there because it will be even harder to get them out now. I guess all we can do now is pray.

I'll bet all the XXL sizes were gone first. I have never seen more obese people in one place. A majority of the residents of NO could stand to skip every other meal.
I'd be willing to bet the local KFC's were looted first.

Agreed.
I can't even begin to imagine how they are going to put that place back together.

You thought wrong.
The foundation of our laws was freedom and self determination. What made that possible was the culture, and most important of the cultural traits were the Christian ethics.

It is New Orleans, after all.

Really, I'd like to see a link that shows where firefighters and law enforcement were looting during a disaster.
how about
here

An earlier thread said how Walgreen's said anything could be taken to use in the relief efforts and cops were taking it from the stores to the shelters. And a cop basically said to a looter "I'm too busy to stop you".
(I thought the cop should have said "Help carry this stuff to the shelter and you can have some water and food and I won't shoot you in the kneecap".)

Nope I don't apologize....yer second error in judgement.....you made a general statement about "all" cops vs a dirty few so if yer having trouble dealing with it , .....yer burden, not mine. We can piss down each others legs on this all ya want but I stand by my opinion yours was BS.....not gonna change.
As you said....."All I've ever said is that police work draws a lot of people who are themselves criminals, with the exception being that they're too chickenshit to be a *real* criminal. Being a policeman is the next best thing."
But understand yer "opinion" was yers to make it's just that I said I thought it was BS and stand by that. The few losers that committ criminal acts are few, very few not .....a lot.... Stay Safe !

Good morning.
"You thought wrong."
I don't think I did but I've learned that debating religion with people of faith, any faith, is usually an exercise in futility so I won't. It's enough for me that you and I have the freedom to think the way we choose to.

My view has nothing to do with faith. I said this as a non-Christian. The founders said and I believe it was true, that our Constitution presupposed a Christian citizenry. It is possible to construct a free nation without Christianity, but it has to have a culture that generates the bonds between people and regulates behavior without resort to laws. Japan, for example.
We had a Christian nation. We have more or less undermined that foundation, but we have not replaced it with something that performs the same task. MTV and sports teams will not hold us together when a crisis comes our way.

"... you made a general statement about "all" cops vs a dirty few" Nope, I just don't see how you're reading it that way. You quoted exactly what I said in your last reply, after all.

Are you sure about that? I think I saw that creature looting a liquor store in New Orleans on the news last night. LOL.

You're not from NO, are you?
As my dad said-"New Orleans is the only city where more cops on the street would cause a crime wave"
