Anyone watching the vid on wwltv?
Am an old man and thought I had seen it all but right now am crying like a baby.
Totally tragic and sad
Those 2 women had no idea of that. They KNEW they were stealing and they KNEW they got caught. If they had known the store was up for grabs, why were they so sheepish about the whole thing? It just proves that offering up the store meant nothing to them... they were stealing anyway.
It was post #5989. I shouldn't have commented on the photo without more information.
The fire is at a shoe store.
Wow, that could be additionally catastrophic.
The press can handle only one story at a time. Nonethless, Mobile is not under ten feet of water and in danger of losing its existence.
Astrocrown Plaza Hotel on fire downtown. Owned by a senator. Firefighters spraying it with hoses. Video on WDSU.
Sorry, I disagree. Talking and doing are two different things. He's talking, when what those people need are someone doing something physically to get them where they need to go. If, you are in an immediate and dire life threatening need and all I do is stand there beside you and talk into a camera about your need, do you think you'd appreciate what I'm doing, or would you be crowding up to me saying, hey Shep, when you jump in your car/heli/whatever to bug out, I'm coming with you? Shep's just a pretty face feeding us drama.
Hotel on fire is in the French Quarter.
I would think most NOLA police officers are going to be unemployed shortly, for an indefinite period.
NOLA will be back. Nevertheless would still like to know what the situation is in Mobile.
But, Gulf Port and Biloxi are just as bad as NO.
I thought it would take some time -- 1,000 miles confirms that. Feds are playing by the rules and moron Governor is a dollar short on asking for help.
exactly a talking head w/ no idea no bmw no house no food no water
From what I can see, the devastation is incomprehensible. I was there in October last year. Hardly anything left.
Can you elaborate - more info???
NOLA Radio scanners now linking live emergency reports on the web.
Then why isn't FEMA and the administration pounding her to make the request? They've got plenty of leverage, simply the threat that if she refuses they'll call a news conference to announce that the military is ready to be moved in but the gov hasn't responded to their pleading to go in ASAP. If the city and state are still failing abysmally, the administration has the responsibility to step in to prevent rapid escalation of the tragedy.
Sorry, I am a big fan of the President, but he's allowed the situation to unfold where it will appear to many that he is too slow and reactionary, rather than proactive. May not be true, but perception is stronger than reality in situations like this.
