Congressman Curt Weldon (R - Pennsylvania) gave another exclusive interview to Dom Giordano this evening (Monday) and broke the news that he will be giving a speech on September 8th (next Monday) during which he will present yet another 'Able Danger' witness. This new witness will attest (and will swear under oath when called) that he was "ordered to destroy records" relating to the 'Able Danger' program.
This order to destroy the records occurred prior to 9-11-01. Weldon intimated that it happened during the Clinton Administration.
The witness, who Weldon did not name, says that he was ordered to destroy records and was threatened with jail if he failed to comply. Weldon said that he has the names of the people involved, including the person who gave the order, and HE WILL NAME THEM in his speech.
Congressman Weldon also said that his staff has met with Senator Arlen Specter's (R - Pennsylvania) staff regarding the upcoming Judiciary Committee hearings. Weldon wants to be sure that everybody is on the same page. Weldon also said that he will do whatever he has to do to make sure that ALL the facts come out and that the process "is not manipulated".
Curt Weldon is like a pit bull on a steak. He expressed disgust with the "incompetence" of the 9-11 Commission and said that the victims of the 9-11 terror attacks deserve answers. Weldon is determined to see that they get them.
Weldon did express confidence in Tim Roehmer and John Lehman and speculated that perhaps the poor job done by the Commission was the result of an incompetent staff. Weldon sounded amazed and disappointed that so much important information was either glossed over or swept under the rug by the Commission.
Weldon will give his September 8th speech either to the National Press Club or to a "9-11 families" group which has asked him to speak. He apparently hasn't nailed down the exact venue yet.
(For those unfamiliar with Dom Giordano, he is a very good conservative local talk show host here in the Philadelphia area, an area which includes Curt Weldon's district. Weldon comes on Dom's show often and, like this evening, sometimes breaks news.)
It is known is certain circles but not commonly known by the public.
I do but can not reveal them, they are colleagues that still work there and this is something that was going on in the intel community trying to use technology to catch terrrorists in the U.S. People were upset when they realized that any name could be put in and you could get anything on anyone IF abused.

Agree with all you wrote. I will even goes as far as saying with limited verbosity, if he was able to carefully "white out", or have someone carefully doctor the copy, then return it, where it would go into a file cabinet for instance, future readers may not know exactly what handwritten notes where cleanly whited out. Only the originals (in the form of a file on a hard disk) would contain the original Berger notes. So if things continued to be mostly covered up, e.g. no future investigations being brought forth, or the bad news Weldon is breaking. Then Berger may have felt his efforts where worth while. His attached notes would never be revealed. I can see what his motive may have been, and clearly it would work if no one was made the wiser. A casual viewer, reporter whomever, obtaining and reading said document would never be the wiser. So this could easily explain why he chanced the NA escapades. Obviously the original electronic form must contain his "handwriten" notes, so it looks like his ass is grassed once they are now retreived. Unless his inside people got access to the computer(s) systems with proper administrative permissions to wipe out given files. Then perhaps some documents could be really gone for ever if he destroyed the copy, and his inside people deleted the file from some directory on a computer system. Perhaps we shall never know the full extent of what he was able to get away with.

This is the first I have heard of who it was that actually shut down AD. Now I am going to have to search for the person who was IG from 1998 to 2001, specifically May 2001. I don't even know if that is a concrete date for the demise of AD, but it has been thrown about enough as to be taken as fact.
Hopefully this timeline and the IG source will uncover a few more snakes under the rocks.
BTW, great work on this Blog. I don't post often, but I read it daily and appreciate the work you do here.

I think this is misinformation because I haven't seen May 2001 mentioned anywhere. Wasn't it disbanded either in late 2000 or in early 2001?

The ill informed always blame McCarthy for the HOLLYWOOD TEN and blacklisting, which is THE farthest thing from factual, historical truth as can be. What is so damned difficult to understand that HUAC was the HOUSE, not the Senate's committee show trial?

I suspect the Clinton administration knew something might happen (they'd seen enough of attacks during their tenure) and demanded it be destroyed in order to shift responsibility.
If all that is accomplished is the demonstration to the People as a whole of the complete incompetence and idiocy of the Clintons that will be sufficient. Since the major conclusion of the 911 Commission is contingent upon provable lies it should be easy to use the Congressional investigations to: demonstrate the alliance between al Queda and Iraq, the involvement of Iraq in domestic terrorist attacks, and the deliberate decisions of the Abomination to hide this involvement.
