BREAKING!!! - Weldon says records were ordered destroyed!! (Able Danger)
Dom Giordano Show - 1210AM Radio "Big Talker" - Philadelphia | 29 AUG 05 | Vanity

Posted on 08/29/2005 6:23:38 PM PDT by Lancey Howard

Congressman Curt Weldon (R - Pennsylvania) gave another exclusive interview to Dom Giordano this evening (Monday) and broke the news that he will be giving a speech on September 8th (next Monday) during which he will present yet another 'Able Danger' witness. This new witness will attest (and will swear under oath when called) that he was "ordered to destroy records" relating to the 'Able Danger' program.

This order to destroy the records occurred prior to 9-11-01. Weldon intimated that it happened during the Clinton Administration.

The witness, who Weldon did not name, says that he was ordered to destroy records and was threatened with jail if he failed to comply. Weldon said that he has the names of the people involved, including the person who gave the order, and HE WILL NAME THEM in his speech.

Congressman Weldon also said that his staff has met with Senator Arlen Specter's (R - Pennsylvania) staff regarding the upcoming Judiciary Committee hearings. Weldon wants to be sure that everybody is on the same page. Weldon also said that he will do whatever he has to do to make sure that ALL the facts come out and that the process "is not manipulated".

Curt Weldon is like a pit bull on a steak. He expressed disgust with the "incompetence" of the 9-11 Commission and said that the victims of the 9-11 terror attacks deserve answers. Weldon is determined to see that they get them.

Weldon did express confidence in Tim Roehmer and John Lehman and speculated that perhaps the poor job done by the Commission was the result of an incompetent staff. Weldon sounded amazed and disappointed that so much important information was either glossed over or swept under the rug by the Commission.

Weldon will give his September 8th speech either to the National Press Club or to a "9-11 families" group which has asked him to speak. He apparently hasn't nailed down the exact venue yet.

(For those unfamiliar with Dom Giordano, he is a very good conservative local talk show host here in the Philadelphia area, an area which includes Curt Weldon's district. Weldon comes on Dom's show often and, like this evening, sometimes breaks news.)

So, Mary acted as if she was immortal and upon her death there was a turf war? Just petty and bureaucratic enough that it might be true....

Less than two weeks later, Lawton was dead and the void left by her passing was devastating. Lawton had written or interpreted almost every law or policy governing the shadowy world of foreign intelligence surveillance for three decades. She was considered such an authority at the DOJ that counterintelligence rules simply became known as “Mary’s Law.”

Unfortunately, Lawton had always been so busy that she didn't leave a paper trail explaining the basis for her rulings. Furthermore, Lawton’s belief that some things were better left undefined, combined with her lack of OIPR guidelines covering internal operations (including her routine practice of informal contacts between the FBI and internal security prosecutors), while not an issue when she was alive, became critical after her death. FISA and OIPR practices were left vulnerable to conflicting interpretations.

"NA do not hand out originals to anyone"

Even if that's true (and it needs to be conclusively confirmed for this case), the fact that the 9/11 O-mission's footnote says they "did not find documentation on the after-action review mentioned by Berger" indicates MAJOR malfeasance by someone, either Burglar and/or 9/11 staff and O-missioners. If an original of that document does still exist in the NAs, why did Burglar not include it in the documentation provided to the commission (he was supposed to be 'selecting' the relevant documentation for the commission, which is absurd). Why did staff and O-missioners not press for that document??? Granted, they will claim they had an overwhelming amount of work to get through, but that kind of after-action report, covering the ONLY significant strike ever attempted on Bin Laden's network, would seem likely to be among the 5-10 most significant documents of the Clinton years on Al Qaeda.....

"Is avoiding that kind of fate worth the risk of jail time? Is that the bad decision Bergler felt so anxious over, probably with pressure from Clinton and the rest of his team, that he stole classified material from the national archives and destroyed it?"

Destroying copies meant for public viewing does not remove the original materials. The only way the original stuff would get destroyed, is if the Clintoon admin had people at the National Archives in positions of authority and know how somehow over a period of time remove all traces of the information in question. Otherwise whatever Berger removed, destroyed has no meaning. It does not add up in my mind quite frankly. Something continues to bother me about this whole deal concerning Sandy Berger removing classified/declassified materials from the NA facility, e.g. removed from building. It just does not add up, UNLESS he was simply trying to review incriminating stuff he was involved in, by way of reading say memos he created, letters he may have signed, Intel Info reports he was involved in etc., interfaces with certain people in some particular decision making capacity, say something he and Clark might have discussed or made a decision to do/not due etc..
If the original stuff is still on microfilm etc., at the NA, then we are wasting our time on that issue. It probably is going to turn out he removed stuff for his review, CYA syndrome, knowing he may in the future get caught up in some further investigation that such as is now happening via. Weldon. He was caught on video then follow up apprenhended him trying to remove stuff that he was not supposed to, and in the process of taking an inventory of what he signed out for, to read while in the NA premise, it was found he did not return things, and when he did, there where things missing from the inventoried list. We presume he destroyed things. But so what. If they are not the originals. As I had said earlier on in another thread, if our NA is stupid enough to issue originals to anyone on request, then they are all total Asshole*, and deserved to be lined up and then let our Marines or Airborne take them out with a 50 Cal..

I am afraid that this Hurricane is going to be the first order of business for the Congress,

I bet they will be all wanting to pass some kind of resolution or bill helping the states in trouble...

which is fine, but I find that charities to a much better job.

Hopefully, Curt won't wait too long...I want this to end up in public hearings....soon.

Per Monsoor Ijaz, Susan Rice was instrumental in not taking Sudan up on the offer of Bin Laden. Somehow, seeing her position in the NSC relating to Africa, Joe Wilson's name popped into my head. So I did some more research and...guess what? I just found an interesting tidbit of trivia...

May 13, 1992 - National Security Advisor Samuel R. Berger announced today the appointment of Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs at the National Security Council. He will succeed Susan Rice.

Source.

The Bush Library link at that website is broken, I will see if I can find the info from another source. IMHO, all Kerry advisors during the campaign...Berger, Wilson, Rice and Clarke were all doing CYA to cover each other's mistakes, to hide pertinent info from the Commission and to keep the Iraq/AQ info from going public.

I fully agree with what all are bring out. Very valid questions we are formulating in this datamining process. I only wish to stress, that perhaps we place to much emphasise on what Sandy Burger removed from the NA. I wish someone could provide us with a definitive answer as to how the NA handles their archives. Less then two weeks back someone did make a comment to the effect they where certain the NA only provides copies in written/typed form, e.g. paper copies.
In no way however, do my comments on this particular matter elude that I am not fully concerned with all the stuff we continue to examine. Burger is as guilty as a fox holding a hen in it's mouth on so much stuff it is pathetic. So I by no means intend to diminish the gravity of what we discuss.
Just want to appeal to folks that burgler removing stuff from the NA may be only a punishable crime in that he removed things off premise that he was not supposed to do.
Obviously we can without a doubt tie in what he might have removed with so many of the allegations he could be charged with in so many areas, e.g. Chicom give aways, shielding Clintoon from wrong doing, very very sloppy proffesional work ethic that lead to many a blunder as far as breaches in national security, outright actions that protected Al Quaeda operatives from being apprehended etc.. So I do not mean to mininize his offenses.

"MARC RICH - BILL CLINTON - PARDONGATE And who else connected with the Demagogic Party received funds directly or indirectly from OFFP$'s"

I think that this is the Rats biggest fear, that their heroes and even bums will get caught up in OFFP scamming.

Just look at the data you have come up with re Joe Wilson. What if his company received OFFP$'s? What if Clarke and a few left wing Generals we see on tv are caught up in OFFP$'s?

As we have discussed this before. Hopefully the focus will be on 9/11 and what set it up rather than a 10 history of what the Clintoons did and may have done.

Our DIL became a hard nosed conservative after 9/11. She listens to Rush, Sean and to the internet for news. However, she has no idea, memory or even a vague thought on China Gate. Nor do any of her conservative friends/fellow mothers.

We are conservative friends with 3 other conservative couples from our church. Only one couple knows anything about China Gate, and their knowledge is a few mantras.

However, everyone remembers 9/11 and wants justice and to prevent it from happening again.

This is why the focus of Able Danger needs to be on 9/11 and how the Rats enabled this.

"Otherwise whatever Berger removed, destroyed has no meaning"

The bottom line is that this essential document, even if it might still exist in the NA, was never shared in any form with the 9/11 O-mission. Maybe Burglar just got rid of 'copies' in the reading room that was assigned to the 9/11 O-mission, maybe he got rid of copies that had vital handwritten comments by various top Clintonista officials. I don't pretend to know what the method was supposed to be with Sandy Burglar, but supposedly he was reviewing docs to determine what should be provided to the 9/11 O-mission. Consider that whatever original(s) of the after-action report for the August 1998 strikes on Afghanistan and Sudan might still exist in the NA, the 9/11 O-mission's own footnote says they did not receive any copies of it, in any form.

Even if that 1998 'original' report is still buried in the NA, it will not surface for 50 years, if ever, now that it has been withheld from the 9/11 O-mission. That is the bottom line for me: the missing report can be presumed to have been one of the most important documents of the Clintonista era relating to terrorism was not reviewed by the 9/11 O-mission. One has to expect that any such "after action report" would contain (1) comments on failures of planning or execution, (2) recommendations for what should be done better, differently, etc. in the future.

The fact that this document went missing is bigger than the "18 minute gap" on one of the Watergate tapes!

Per Michelle Malkin:

Archives officials have said previously that Berger had copies only, and that no original documents were lost. It remains unclear whether Berger knew that, or why he destroyed three versions of a document but left two other versions intact. Officials have said the five versions were largely similar, but contained slight variations as the after-action report moved around different agencies of the executive branch.

If one carefully followed last summer's coverage, it became apparent that each of the 5 versions [taken by Berger] bore unique handwritten notes or markings made by its recipient. That means each copy became an "original" document, i.e. containing information not depicted on the others.

They were not exact copies; each memo started off as a copy of an original draft by Richard Clarke, but the memos had handwritten notes from each recipient as comments, requests for revision, and suggestions for possible action. Each document was unique, and their destruction by Mr. Scissors means that we will never know what some did with Clarke's information. All we know is that it must have reflected badly on Berger, Clinton, or both. Otherwise, why would Berger destroy them?

Source

So...it depends on how you define the word "copies".
