Very telling stuff. Looks like downtown has some significant flooding. Problem is, the water can't drain out like it would in most cities, but has to be pumped out.
Those weren't just stories. We had one or two special services girls in Korea that caused a few problems. The funny thing is my yobo is the one who warned me about her. The girls in the village knew everything that went on. I was to busy in Vietnam to socialize. There weren't many EOD folks left in country during the Easter Offensive in 1972 so they had about four units doing the work of 15. If I had time to get in a bed, I was going to sleep in it.
You think I should?
Do they have gauges on the Lake to measure depth? Is it rising still?
Where are you? We are north of Memphis, just wondering how long that we have until it arrives here.
Doesn't that burn you up, but when we donate to specifically to disaster relief the money is used for that purpose only. It is a ministry and those people do a great job. So I will give to them.
Several people have asked about Picayune.
No but that doesn't make me feel better :( This is a disaster.
welcome aboard Jennifer!
That WDSU video link is amazing. And yet the pictures are very sad. LSU medical center and every thing anywhere near it (Blocks)is surrounded by water.
I have 3 kids that live there..my daughter said there has been 1 death in the Belhaven neighborhood related to the storm..she and my other daughter have been w/out power since 2 p.m. there were pine trees down all up and down Lake Harbor dr..they said trees/limbs down everywhere,
looks life a hurricane hit...I told them it did! I am guessing they had gusts up to 50 60 mph?
Holy moly .. look at the massive damage to the roof of that office building .. it's been raked completely open.
CNN: A Biloxi casino broke up and sank.
That's why I stopped when I did, Starwise. It's a good and valid request.
Whoa.
Well, you know that no matter how bad we think it is, it's always worse than we think in the following days.
Treasure Bay?
Only where local/state/Federal governments underwrite them with no-bid grants and/or blanket "emergency operations" permits and partnerships.
That needs to change.
But hey, keep up the good work!
I understand a few more Italian NGO "hostages" must be freed, and if a few more terrorists are cured from their wounds to fight and kill again, well, certainly the Red Cross bears no burden for future acts of destruction by their illegal charitable beneficiaries.
After all, its all for a good cause...and we are all human beings...and its the Red Cross!
