Hurricane Katrina made landfall today at 6:10AM CDT, and she continues to drive northward into Mississippi and Alabama. Several local radar sites are down. Tornado and flash flood watches and warnings are widespread.

Salvation Army gets my donations. They truly give from the heart. They don't pay their executive$ exorbitant, obscene salaries, and they don't CHARGE people for their services.
These people in So CA actually DIALED their loved ones' (in SF) phone numbers, but got My phone. I even checked to see if maybe after I'd helped the first person, whether she'd been giving out my number. Not that I suspected her, given her character on the phone..but. Maybe, somehow in the circuitry.. my phone number popped up. Or maybe there was a rolling connect; and possibly others in areas surrounding the "hardest hit", got calls too?
Talked with two pacbell guys, and they thought it was curious too. I just figured I was blessed. And truly, I was glad to help.
This is unreal.
Maybe you should do an Internet search for info on the U.S. Congress' reaction to the Red Cross' dishonest fundraising tactics after 9/11. There are plenty of relief organizations which manage to raise money honestly. The Red Cross isn't one of them.
If New Orleans is a crescent lying on the curved part, and you extend the right end of the crescent into three "fingers" (or "toes"), one northeast, one pointing east, one pointing southeast, St. Bernard is the part sticking out to the east.
Orleans is the one sticking out northeast, Plaquemines is the one sticking out southeast.
I can not abide Shep. Maybe they will show them again in a little while. Thanks.
Hi! I'm glad you are here too, MOgirl! :)

The Red Cross doesn't charge you for amy disaster services. Everything the Red Cross does in a disaster zone is FREELY given by volunteers and the American People. There is no charge for shelters, food, or any other assistance.
well, Brian Williams told America N.O. dodged the bullet!
The news media in Nashville is at Defcon 5 . They've closed most of the schools tomorrow. This is just bizarre.
Any word on Gulfport between Canal and Highway 49?
Anything on Big Lake?
FOX...damn, that water's DEEP.
LOL! Well, when I looked, all I saw were downed trees, and a wet Molly. The only reason I looked is that I have spent a lot of time there, working, and have friends in the area.
As a preliminary measure, if you have coffee filters, run the water thru one first, then add chlorine
Where is that?
And the RC ad min earns a paltry
$500,000 per year.
There was a whole list of them named
some years ago & how much they get
in salaries.
You already used "angry cap's" and called me names over this yesterday. Thank you, anyway.
I suspect it's the garden in the back side of St. Louis Cathedral...
Metrarie?
