"Others reported that homes on Campagna Drive were nearly underwater."

Wish I could thank you for this post. It confirms that sil's house (1 block over from Campagna) is underwater.

How about: Big bore caliber (.375, .416, etc.) but just a flesh wound...like the removal of a limb.

Well there's the rub. How about being a mom with a baby that needs an organ transplant? Dilemmas dilemmas. I think I'd just pray that it not be as bad it could be for everyone.

He is our Lord that spared New Orleans and the Gulf cost from the horrible death and destruction and substantially weakened the hurricane before it made landfall. In a siutation like this when all the might and power of man cannot do anything, only our Lord can save us and He did save us. Praise the Lord!

I'm sorry this makes no sense. If he is "lord of all" then he also created the storm that cost 9 lives already and millions of dollars of property damange. You want to priase him for sparing some, why not damn him for condemming others? Seems to me we can't really know much about his reasons or motivations in times like this.

"CNN is better but now I have a Harrigan 'whoa' sound life for eternal posterity."

Speaking of which, did I miss it, or has there been NO "live" reports from Harrigan since the "Whoa" episode?

The man is a fool, but I'd hate to think that something actually bad happened....

Harrigan was in Gulfport, wasn't he? All that juvenile stuff he was doing was before the northeast eye wall hit there. Nothing since.

FL death toll is at 11 from 9. 3 evacuees died last night outside Baton Rouge (nursing home -dehydration?). I am afraid for the numbers from LA/MS with the flooding.

If you somehow forgot or lost your prescription meds, there are hospitals where these types of things are available.

I can think of ways to have people seperated from their medicine when people are being forced to climb onto their roofs to escape. Such people may not be in a position to trek to the nearest hospital. It is not a violation of the natural law to obtain necessary supplies during an emergency.

I'm sure that if you find looters in a pharmacy, they ain't walking off with a vial of insulin and a couple of needles.

I'm sure "looters" are uninterested in such things. I was responsding to your absolute statement that it is always wrong to take without permission. That statement is false. If someone was having an anaphylatic shock in your presence, would you "steal" some epihephrine in order to prevent them from dying, or would you simply tell them "sorry, it's wrong, try to walk to the nearest hospital"?

God is God, and we are not. That is really all you can say. We can't praise him or bash him for these cases....his wisdom is just better than ours.

Yeah, I tried to go to the Mobile paper but did not want to register so I went to the B'ham paper. It said that power was out as far north as Tuscaloosa. It looks like the worse part will be in the NW part of the state although we will get some rain and winds. I can see the top of the tree across the street and it is really blowing. If you learn anything else let me know.
