Category 4 Hurricane Katrina is approaching landfall in Eastern Louisiana. At 4:00AM EDT the storm's center was about 90 miles south of New Orleans.

Yes, have you ever seen a "big box" type building get hit by a windstorm BEFORE they get the roof on? The walls just fall over because there is no bracing to resist the force of the wind. The need for bracing would probably be lessened due to the circular design of the wall enclosure. With the roof gone, the tops of the walls and the "upper deck" would probably be the next to go.

Not sure, sorry, the lady did say the rain was actually bleeding in around the windows (not flood waters, but rain, just want to specify)
Remember folks in big hurricanes double wides don't fare too well. Gigantic domes of concrete and steel are most likely up to the task.

Big "box" stores are nothing more than concrete block or steel walls, with a truss span roof... They aren't stadiums, but minimalistic structures to offer the maximum amount of covered sq ft for the lowest possible cost.
