I know there are threads going with information pertaining to the hurricane. If anyone would like to come and pray and post it here....when we feel helpless, through prayer we are reminded God is with us!!!
Amen
Amen.
Lord have mercy.
Mark 4: 35-41 (RSV)
35 "On that day, when evening had come, he [Jesus] said to them, "Let us go across to the other side."
36 And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him.
37 And a great storm of wind arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already filling.
38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care if we perish?"
39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 He said to them, "Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?"
41 And they were filled with awe, and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even wind and sea obey him?"

O merciful Lord, please weaken this storm and protect those in harms way.
In Jesus name, Amen.
I want to add to pray for every animal, bird and all wildlife...
My prayers are with all those in the path of this storm.
May the hand of Jesus protect them and all others from the storm's rage and bring them safely to the end of this time of trouble.
My brother is in New Orleans, and we have friends not too far away in Pass Christian MS, which is on the Gulf Coast. I am a nervous wreck right now!!!
Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for us!
ETERNAL FATHER, STRONG TO SAVE
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm has bound the restless wave,
Who bade the mighty ocean deep
Its own apponted limits keep:
O hear us when we cry to thee
For those in peril on the sea.
O Savior, whose almighty word
The wind and waves submissive heard,
Who walked upon the foaming deep,
And calm amid the storm did sleep:
O hear us when we cry to thee
For those in peril on the sea.
O Holy Spirit who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace:
O hear us when we cry to thee
For those in peril on the sea.
O Trinity of love and pow'r,
All trav'lers guard in danger's hour
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,k
Protect them wheresoe're they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to thee
Glad hymns and praise from land and sea.
So.
Thou art a good God who lovest mankind; Thou hast created us. All Thy judgements are righteous. We are the work of Thy hands. We are ungrateful and wandering sheep. We have failed to repent.
I tremble to ask that Thou would overlook our myriad sins, and have mercy on the Gulf Coast of America.
I'll add them to my Rosaries over the next hours-- and you too.
It appears you do pray. Thank you!
Praying for all in the path of this monster storm.
Not so sure about the "still waters" part, but this has been on my mind today:

The Psalms
23
The LORD Is My Shepherd
A Psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters. Rev. 7.17
3 He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor saved New Orleans from the British in 1812, I pray that Our Lady again saves New Orleans.
This was their bedtime prayer.
All of you down there are in our thoughts tonight.
May His gracious intervention be recognized and appreciated.
Dear God I pray for the safety of all of those in harms way from this terrible storm. We know You can calm the storm with your words, Peace Be Still. Amen
