Hurricane warnings and watches are posted. Hurricane Katrina continues to strengthen in the Gulf of Mexico. The forecast models continue to converge upon New Orleans. However, all interests in the northern Gulf of Mexico should follow the path of this very large and dangerous storm, and be prepared for a major hurricane landfall. There have been reports of coastal animals leaving in droves for higher ground. Meanwhile, New Orleans continues to suggest that residents evacuate.

Yup... was " BORN AGAIN " in 1984
Woke up at 2 amd heard them saying it has been upgraded to a 4. I cannot believe the governor and mayor haven't ordered evacuation; it is too late now, if you ask me.
Well, not really a image of a animal or human, but, a circle, like a outer band around the hurricane.
Thank you!
I can't decipher these images out here in EQ country.
I hope they all know how to swim!
well, since it will take two months to pump out the city, and it will be filled with cotton mouths (water moccasins) in every corner...
"Senior Screen For Life Cancelled For Tomorrow" says the crawl. Gee, why worry about getting a disease if you're an elderly person living in New Orleans?
Yes I am but probably not in as good a standing as many others lol...
The Great Hurricane of '38 that hit New England nicknamed "The Long Island Express" brought winds of over 180 mph to New England due to the great forward speed of the hurricane, estimated at 70 mph (the fastest known forward speed of a hurricane in history) Over 600 people died in the storm, mostly due to flooding in the storm surge, the storm pushed a great wall of water of up to 25 feet in parts ahead of it. Providence, RI was under 20 feet of water. This is the great danger of hurricanes moving up the east coast, the water temps are not as warm as near Florida or the Gulf of Mexico but they accelerate in forward speed when they get squeezed between the Bermuda High in the east and approaching frontal systems from the west.
I am glad to hear that- haven't seen her in a long time, always thought she was great, and a beautiful "spoof" on MSM, way before it gained prominence.
So true. But I feel for these newspeople. How long are THEY planning on staying? And what is their plan for getting out?
Channel 6 reporting that N.O. mayor says he cannot call for a mandatory evac due to a legal technicality. He would order it, if he could.
And I thought tarantulas, rattlers & coyotes were bad.
Egad.
Great. Lawyers partly responsible for 9/11. Lawyers may be partly responsible for what could be a Katrina disaster.
That is awesome! I wish you could see what I see. I printed it out and am going to keep a copy! When you asked your question I was not sure if we were seeing the same thing or not!
I am going to go get some sleep soon! I hope you are not in the area were this is headed!

A face of some sort but not sure if thats good or bad. I can see where different ppl will see different things. Hope or tragedy comes to ppl in many different forms.
The image could tell some you shall be safe & tell others danger is upon you. Either way we shall learn our fate soon enough...
