Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.

CRAWFORD Newly crowned anti-war icon Cindy Sheehan has occasionally spoken of her affection for Central Texas, where she's mounted her controversial, month-long peace vigil, but many townfolks here are still ready to see her go.

After the convoy arrived, I went to the opposite side of the camp and was amazed at the number of people still coming in.
I must have repeated the phrases, This is amazing and This is freakin unbelievable! one thousand times on Saturday!
No, I can't answer that accurately. I saw two people whom I assumed to be mothers picking up or holding crosses. I spoke to another who was holding a cross (see my photos) for her son's friend's mother.
Thanks for allowing me to use your pics. Didn't have time to get the camera out.
Ahem, no.
You'd be well advised to check before you make inane comments.
thanks...someone posted some pictures and kind of explained the situation.
In the tent, where we both were, it was not very loud, you really had to concentrate, and if the person next to you was talking, fuggitaboutit.
Don't I know it. I was up 'til 2 AM last night (Monday) and still haven't caught up.
But, if one really hates to drive, you can fly to Waco. Doesn't save much time though, what with waiting in DFW for your puddle jumper connection. Never mind about running from terminal to terminal (actually they have monorail) at DFW. Driving from DFW would definitely be easier, although getting to the rental cars at DFW is at least as difficult as getting to the commuter terminal.
Care to wager on that?
The yard across the street from the "Peace House" was full of anti-Cindi, pro-Bush, and pro-Troops signs. As you can see from various pictures here, many of the local landowners put up pro-Bush and Troops Support signs on their fences.
As for the rude gravel spitting business, all I can say is that I didn't see any such thing, and observe that liberals often lie, just like Jihadies.
Hi TX,
I'm lead the fire fighter end of the Rally.
I NEED SOME HELP!
There were some troughs used to store water and ice.
We need to locate them and make sure they get returned to Bar None AG Supply on Hwy 6. This could be very expensive if we don't make it happen.
If anyone has the names and numbers to leaders at Camp Reality please get them to me. This was the last location of the troughs.
Shoom me a private mail.
Thanks,
Adam

Well I guess they could have been occasional lurkers on FR, but I knew most of the FReepers at the event and the guys accosting the Protest Warrior guys were not FReepers that I knew.
It happened right in front of where JimRob and Sheila where sitting and none of these guys came over to meet Jim and Sheila, so it is a safe bet they where not FReepers.
On the contrary, I and some other FReepers where the ones trying to explain to the hot heads that the Protest Warrior guys where on our side. Eventually they figured it out. I also went backstage to get Kristinn to make an announcement that the Protest Warrior guys were ok and that this was just a misunderstanding, not infiltrators from the left as was announced as it happened.
Most of the people crowded around the Protest Warriors where media camera crews trying to get a front page "exclusive."
I'm trying to get hold of some folks who were there. Hopefully we can get these tracked down for you. I've also pinged them via Freepmail.
Thanks
Sorry, FFFF, I can't help you. I didn't even see them anywhere on the field when we drove off. Sure hope you can find them. Keep us posted.
I was with the group who had the big black bathtubs. A couple dropped them off at Camp Reality with the left over water. They tried to drop them off somewhere down one road... came back as the place was closed... then took them to Camp Reality with the water. Freep mail me and I'll give the cell # of someone in Camp Reality.
Thanks Gracey,
I've made contact with someone up there. We're making progress. Think I have them located. If so I'll get them turned in tomorrow.
So your posititon is that you were there when it happened, no FReeper you recognized had anything to do with it, and you knew who most of the FReepers there were, is that correct?
