Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
Good job! The caption thread is a hit!
And many of them had badges that said "White House Press Corps", they had the story, the editors chose not to go with it, or not much anyway.
Another person here called it "Sheehanistan."
Thanks for giving me the idea!
Oh geeeez, they are both appropriate names........."Shehanistan" is a GREAT way to refer to this kommie kamp as well...I actually like it better, but ya know, if we use "Cindistan", we leave out Casey Seehan's name. I kinda do like that.
Thanks for posting your fledgling photographer's shots. He did good. And thanks to everyone else for sharing such wonderful photos with the rest of us who just wished we could be there to join in supporting our troops.
PERFECT! Good One! :)
"I'd say the anti-Bush to Pro-Bush ratio was at least 3 to one in our favor!"
Great pics, thanks for posting..and I just love what you said!!! God Bless all.
A popular Des Moines barber shop had a new robotic barber installed.
A fellow came in for a haircut. As the robot began to cut his hair, it asked him, "What's your IQ?"
The man replied, "130." So the robot proceeded to make conversation about physics, astronomy, investments, insurance and so on.
The man listened intently and said, "This is really cool."
Later, another gent came in for a haircut and the robot asked him as it began the haircut, "What's your IQ?"
The man responded, "100." So the robot started talking about football, baseball, and so on. The man thought to himself, "Wow, this is really cool."
Later on, a third guy came in to the barber shop. As with the others, the robot barber asked him, "What's your IQ?"
The man replied, "70."
The robot then said, "So, I understand you Democrats are really excited about Hillary running for president?"
This is one of THE best threads of FR's history. It's in my top 10 list.
That poster of Casey looks a little bit like an old picture of Colin Powell in the same uniform.
Since there was no "ticket" to buy, and no registration required to attend. No one will ever really know. Although police, at least those accustomed to big gatherings, can usually make a pretty good estimate. Normally aerial photos, or at least taken from somewhat above the crowd, will allow a decent estimate, but a bunch of this crowd was below the "big top", or in the shade of the trees. That would make even an unbiased estimate hard to come buy. Maybe find out whose helicopter that was flying around all day (I suspect the Secret Service) and ask them.
Maybe so (probably so, in fact.) .... but then, I am a conservative, after all.
yeah - it actually does!
Is this a woman or a man?
