LIVE Report From Crawford (3,000 folks now and STILL COMING!)
Basil in Crawford | 8-27-05 | TxBubba

Posted on 08/27/2005 10:02:40 AM PDT by TXBubba

Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.

Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!

Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.

They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.

The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.

Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.

To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!

That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.

I trioed likew hell to get through to them but nothing but a massive menu to click through and no complaints line.

Man am I mad.

Think it would do any good to e-mail Fox and Friends tomorrow morning until they acknowledge the crappy coverage? At least it might rattle their cages!!!!

Yes they can use the crosses to suit themselves only. I often wonder just "who" they pray to at their "vigils".

God's probably wondering the same thing.

"I will cut through the north panhandle, just for variety..."

Not much variety there; it mostly looks like this:

My heart goes out to this woman and her family. I heard on Fox that the police would only let the families take the name cards, not the crosses.(Probably, on the Ditch Witches condition).

Apparently, Mrs. Wells took it all. Good for her. It's good for her children to see their mother stand up for their father and his memory.

Thank you. We tend to make these observations in isolation, and then being somewhat complacent, write them off as "just catching Fox on a bad night". We don't always connect the dots, even if we have a funny feeling of unease. It helps in fully recognizing the reality of the situation to know that others perceive the same changes that you do.

As Lloyd Maines says: "It's so flat that if you look at the horizon on a really clear day, you can see the back of your own head."

Wonder how Ms. Nugent knows this?

She lives in the area. A small town like Crawford, news travels at warp speed.

it is arrogant and wrongful and maybe even scary for the children, especially if mom and dad were not home.

Considering what some of the folks in question *look* like, it might even be scary for Mom and Dad.

My apologies. Lame attempt at humor. Reagan belongs to the ages, and thank God for FR, Kooligan, MAF and all conservative Californians!

Please read post # 2534

And call if you can!

We need to let speak up:

"The founder of Move America Forward, Howard Kaloogian, accused Cindy Sheehan, the sponsor of the anti-war protest, of encouraging the very insurgency in Iraq that killed her son.

"The terrorists that are watching Cindy Sheehan's protest believe that this is something that might topple the current administration." Kaloogian said. "And I have a question that I want the media to begin asking Cindy Sheehan: How many more American soldiers are going to die because you are giving hope and encouragement to our enemies?"

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/08/27/crawford.rallies/

Kaloogian is right!

Man that's a lot of Barbie the Fire Department going to cook today!

And while they were down to heals on the bread, and some of the sausage was might overdone, they didn't run out until after the proceedings were over. Collected a good amount of money for the coffers too. Can't beat that, good BBQ and help a worthy cause at the same time.
