Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
Thank you and all who went so Much! And God Bless you! We can wait. You get rest, and then later we'll have something more to look forward to.
I
I saw a blurb somewhere today that said the President's numbers were the lowest ever...60% against...then showed that of the people polled...only 29% were Republican.
'pro-war'
feel the same way. who WANTS war?? it's a last resort...but, if our President believed war was necessary to keep our country safe from terrorists...so be it.
Thanks .. but I don't have a problem with any pics .. especially not Yahoo.
It would only matter if you have a Nielson box on your TV....
That is the problem when you are too clever. The Protest Warrior signs and the Communists for Kerry signs are ingenious but they take too long to figure out even for those with IQs over 100. You have a very slim time window when you are protesting.
I hope they are very happy. Mort deserves to have a companion after so many years in the caretaker role. I'm sure Millie would approve.
They used it:
The Protest Wrriors were walking through the crowd with their large signs. They were mistaken for Sheehan supporters and their signs were grabbed and torn. Then they were escorted away by the sherrif.
Not realy, their timing and message was way wrong, the crowd went ballistic at a very emotional time. Protestwarrior tactics should not have been used here IMHO. Signs honoring the troops/discrediting Shehann, would have been much more effective.
I told them that I was there with Free Republic, shook all three of their hands and said "I'm sorry, we at FR love you guys."
Even with a thousand people chanting "Cindy Go Home" at them, they were cool and collected.
Those PWs sure got my respect today!
I just knew we could count on you....thanks for your hard, hot work...
And that goes for every one that attended, and took pictures...it was SO hot, ya'll deserve extra credit!
Thanks!
No kidding?? Wow .. neighbors .. Perrine didn't get it quite as bad as Homestead on up to Cutler Ridge -- but it definitely got it. Sad. Praying for the poor folks in the path of Katrina .. she's a deadly system.
Thanks TR. For some reason my HTML tags weren't working. I couldn't get it to appear as a link, even though I've done links many times.
Somebody must have had a strong magnifying glass to read that fine print, because it's certainly not a detail the MSM would offer freely.
I viewed them OK Star if you want them I have them saved to hard disk
PLEASE get that report on the polling!! I need that info to tell the rats I know about this!
"Only if it can click on FreeperTV."
I'll *Click* to that~~!!! :) :)
Fantastic Photos! You guys are the best!
